    This was the very first movie of all time that I went to see twice at the cinema. Once the intro sequence began, I instantly knew this was something special. Turned out I was right - a beautiful new story, the amazing characters of Alita, Ido, Vector, a completely unique world as well as captivating VFX and effects. Truly wonderful movie.

    It’s such a shame this movie didn’t have box office success. It came out the same time as Captain Marvel which everyone watched instead, and that garbage movie got 1B at the box office. This movie has a star studded cast, engaging themes, very cool and detailed world, philosophical themes of man vs computer and society, insanely creative action and fight sequences, kickass song by Dua Lipa and sets up so well to be a new movie franchise with at least 2 more movies. I mean for god sake, Edward Norton didn’t even get 2 minutes as the big villain of screen time! Make the goddamn sequel.

    My absolute favourite film of that year. Fantastically written story that stays entirely loyal to the source material, a rare instance of a well made adaptation. Phenomenal soundtrack, jaw dropping visuals, and because it's loyal to the books it has equally impressive writing. The only notable complaint I have about the film, is how abruptly and out of nowhere it ends. If you have read the books, you know what happens. But if the film were my only experience of Battle Angel without knowing the books even exist, I can imagine being left confused and disappointed.

Cheese. Remember people cheering in the full theatre watching Alita, you'd never see this during the CM movie. That bitch is a villain, period, while Alita is everithing a super heroine is supposed to be: badass, nice, heartwarming, eye candy and full of personality. Despite almost entirely made of metal, Alita is far more human and attractive than captain plank, 'nuf said.

    Because Alita is such a Mary Sue? She's best and coolest and then she found a battle armor that made her Superman strong. In many ways it's a shameless power fantasy. Sure many superhero movies are kinda like that but there's something off about this one. Maybe it's the over-sized anime eyes that gives an uncanny valley effect. And maybe because adults couldn't identify with the teenage love story. And the teenagers that could would just watch Hunger Games instead. Idk. It's nice entertainment and I would like a 2 just to see how it ends but I can't say it's a movie I would insist my friends to watch.

  • @mrfixitusa6165

    @mrfixitusa6165

    2 жыл бұрын

    No, critics just need to be replaced with people who can give an objective, honest critique and opinion, that's not bought & directed by some social and/or political agenda. At one time Hollywood was a manipulation tool used to flood the populace continually from every angle with whatever social or political agenda was being pursued at the time. But the critics would simply critique a movie and give their opinions on things that matter about movies. (Instead of basing EVERYTHING on whether or not the movie fits/promotes their agendas & messages) But now it's all one big operation, and the critics are part of the same manipulation system. They shut down everything that doesn't fit their agenda and flooded out with the hogwash and trash that does fit their agenda. They no longer care about making interesting, good, fun movies, all they care about is using everything as a tool to manipulate, desensitize, normalize, preach, and control. That's why the majority of movies and shows absolutely suck these days. They're not making them to be a good enjoyable show. In fact in the rear occasion when there is a show that's made to be good and enjoyable they'll hijack it take the favorite character and bam suddenly there's a major change to make it fit their social agenda or whatever narratives they're pushing. It's all bull crap. Sadly the majority of people are falling for it. Even worse, many people realize it, but they still keep feeding it to themselves, fooling themselves into thinking it's "not affecting me because I'm aware of it".

    This is how you adapt anime into a live action, this movie has done correctly and I'm happy. Take note, Death Note (get it? note?), Dragonball: Evolution, Knights of the Zodiac, and sort of The Last Airbender? because the show is from America.

    Unfortunately the movie didn't do all that well at the box office going up against the Captain Marvel film, 🙄 So it's questionable if we'll ever get a second film, (I really would love one.) Maybe a Netflix series could be an option? Stranger things have happened.

    Alita battle angel IS NOT A ROBOT, she is a cyborg, she is a living being. You could say that only her body is robotic, however the true body of the battle angel nano body is more biological like. It is a nano scale molecular design that is healing and many times stronger than a biological form and robotic form.
