As a MoS fanboy, I'd say it was ahead of its time. Or more likely, it was too different and too serious compared to what the first MCU films but especially The Avengers had already conditioned moviegoers and executives to expect.

Man of Steel will forever be one of my favorite movies. It’s lore, depth and message are so huge and important. It’s an under-appreciated gem with captivating atmosphere, layered characters and absolutely magical soundtrack. Beats any Marvel film easily. This film is something otherworldly, no pun intended. Zack Snyder did really, really well. Sad that WB rushed and ruined everything later. But there is still hope that Snyder will give us a sequel which will have this same unique, ancient yet at the same time futuristic feeling to it. I said it before and I will say it again - this movie is gold.

Not normally a comic book film fan - apart from Batman trilogy. But this film is special. I couldn't wait for the sequel that was planned but they decided to go with batman vs superman and it was a bit flat for me.

Everything about this movie was ahead of its time, that's why now slowly people are realizing the greatness of this movie than ever before.

Epic theme, When I first heard it I was like "woah..." It saturates the scene brings it to life. Highly dramatic at its peak.

Most underrated film and soundtrack. It's a masterpiece who cares what the Yahoo's say....it amazing.

AGREED.I thought the film was-GREAT. Held my attention from start to finish and the soundtrack is-INCREDIBLE !!!! Zod was a great villian also,you understood his motivations,but,not his methods. He could've used any other planet in our solar system to re-create Krypton and no one would care. LOL. But,if he did that,then there would be no conflict. RIGHT ???
