The first time I heard Man Next Door, I was in an independent video rental store (remember those?), where the employees could bring their own music. When the song came on, I flew to the counter and shouted in the clerk's face WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING?!?! Scared the bejeezuz out of him until he realized the crazy lady was just an instant fan.

Love this song for well over a decade. When I was younger Tho, I always heard ‘always a fuzzy fart. Took me longer than I’d like to admit to find out its ‘always a fuss and fight.

So many years later, and I still get goosebumps every time those initial guitar plucks come in after Horace's first "There's a man that lives next door" line. This whole album is such a masterpiece.

"Mezzanine" album is the "Violator" album of the Massive Attack...a truly masterpiece.

Still gives me shivers....looking into the darkness is a human obligation; writing songs about it is art.

This song reminds me of a person I love but sadly have no contact with anymore. I just hope he's well and happy.
