I feel your pain. We hosted Christmas last year and among the group is about 6 20-something educators. Their estimate of their intelligence levels is hysterical and they truly believe that their limited life experiences have given them unique insights into how things really are and how they should be. My wife was very grateful that I left the room and got a glass of wine instead of pointing out the fallacy of their beliefs.

It IS true, except for needing to go to hospital as an emergency. There are MILLIONS of people in the USA who simply cannot cope with a differing opinion. They will feel traumatised by anything they don't believe. They find their security in the world they and those like them have created to feel comfortable without God, and facts are such a threat to this alternate reality of theirs that their defence goes up immediately to deflect the facts as an evil lie, triggering tremendous stress. They will give up friends and family to find peace in their made-up world.

This is also the only information link that I can see. I've never seen those Wikipedia "fact-checker" information links that I've heard some commenters talk about. Maybe the COVID information links aren't as common due to the pandemic itself not being as serious as it was in 2020 and 2021. Will Smith didn't wear a mask when he slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars, and neither did Chris Rock (and probably most of the audience too), and that was in March 2022. Maybe the left was more focused on the Ukraine conflict than the coronavirus in March 2022, since it started just a month ago at that time. There are probably a few places that still have or had authoritarian COVID rules in the last three years.

Informed Consent Action Network, or ICAN, is known for being a conspiracy and psuedo-science website. I'm not trying to ramble, I'm just telling the truth. Yes, social distancing worked because diseases travel through the air. What did you think? Yes, vaccines work because of years and years of scientific research people poured their lives into. What did you think - unless you really don't care about the lives of scientists because they try to study things by making a studious rather than stupid explanation? Some random website with hardly a few hundred people or the entire government - or is the government really that untrustworthy to you? ICAN said on their own that they had 40+ legal victories - are they the only credible source, or is the millions of other websites that say they're fake absolutely impossible for you to take? Tell me - what's the difference between antivaxxers and Flat Earthers? And why did you decide to only show their side of the argument and their own website? How they would be right every single time is an insult. I have nothing against conservatives. Political ideologies are political ideologies and just determined on locale. But people who just deny factual information because they want to? Not so much. The same way you can't just suddenly listen to conspiracy stories, you can't say one plus one equals three. Truth is, you'll be doing the same thing if you were hearing something about banning guns and an organization saying that it's good for the nation, and you don't want to admit it. People getting annoyed by others on the Internet is natural. But please. Even as a liberal, your content is funny. I don't want you to support conspiracy stories and such. The information we know of now is that science is correct and that science makes people trustworthy, and that misinformation is incorrect and lying for money makes people untrustworthy. Besides, if science is too progressive now, I have no idea what would be conservative. Just use logic - 100 random people on the Internet naming themselves ICAN or 100 years of human history - who's more trustworthy?
