When I was that little girl's age I got to see my dad as a King. We were a big theater family, most of us singers (myself included), but when I was that little one's age I got to see Dad play The King in the musical King and I (Yul Brenner's role).....and it was like magic. Big dark (Italian) guy, about 6"5', 275 lbs, deep melodic voice, custom-made fancy shiny costumes. Of course we were in a crowded theater so I couldn't, but I really wanted to run around screaming "That's MY Dad, My Dad is a king!" Later on in life our relationship got a lot more complicated, he passed in 2018, and I'm nearing 50 with a short-term memory that is complete crap. But my long-term memory, with moments like that, clear as day and will be with me until the day I die. And.....I'm going to go cry now, so I will wish you a blessed day!

The pianists name is Wes. He deserves some credit here. His arrangements are perfection, and his execution is flawless. He has been playing in the Grand Floridian lobby for as long as I can remember. On several occasions, I’ve had the pleasure of chatting with him, touching on just about all aspects of life. He’s exceedingly kind, passionate, and patient. A truly genuine human. Can’t wait to see and hear him again when this crazy pandemic has finally passed.

I’m not sure anyone’s trying to negate or diminish his skill (or at least not that I saw). I think they just assume he’s a professional and gloss over him because the dad was just a rando passing through. He changed the tempo several times to match the song with the guy singing, and he did it without distorting the song. That’s not something just anyone could do.

When I heard the Ave Maria instead of a Disney song, I was beyond thrilled!! And I have the feeling so were the people who stopped by to listen to a dad singing to his little girl. Disney creates magic, even when the guests provided their special brand of it. Job well done, dad. Whether you were at Disney World wearing shorts and a football jersey or wearing a tux singing in a Cathedral, the performance was beautiful!! And your little girl loved every second of it. ❤❤❤

I was going to comment but you said it all! Wow, this is so inspiring on multiple levels and just freed me of preconceived notions of my first impression appearances of all people! What a gift he has given to many in unique ways through his choice to sing! Passing him by on the street I would have never guessed what a glorious Ava Maria he could sing. Goes to show what I know about others! Nothing! Which is why I should always keep an ever loving heart and open mind towards all people. What a great dad, brave man and phenomenal dinger!

The euphoria in the little girl is more than anything.

The way his daughter looked at him is how my baby niece looks at me when I sing my arias. I could not help but weep. His sensitivity to the text and music moves hearts.
