Man Dead After Destroying Scion TC Against Building With Body Recovery | Inglewood CA

At least one person was killed in a horrific accident on West Century Blvd
just West of Crenshaw Blvd at around 1:44am. According to a witness
he said that he saw the car going so fast it looked like lightning passing
him. The vehicle lost control hitting a small tree and taking out the railing
to the front door of a business before colliding with the corner part of a
church. LACoFD used the jaws of life to open up the vehicle to extricate the
patient but it was too late and. The patient was announced DOA after almost
an hour. Inglewood PD taped off the area and covered up the vehicle. Currently
W Century Blvd is closed until further notice from Crenshaw Blvd to Hawthorne Blvd.
No further information available. Inglewood PD is handling the investigation.

A few years ago in Tarzana a young kid wrapped his car around a phone pole outside of my office. We were across the street from Tarzana Emergency and one of the nurses ran over to lend aid, but we knew he was gone. She leaned in, after verifying he was gone, and held his hand and talked to him like he was alive, offering him comfort and letting him know he wasn’t alone. When the fire fighters arrived and had to pull the roof off the car to get the young kid out, I think he was 20, they too covered him with a blanket and told him they didn’t want to get glass on him, and really hurried to get him out, all the while speaking to him. The nurse and fire department treated this boy with such respect and caring. I was touched. They do it because they said a deceased person deserves the same effort and comfort a live person does. God bless the first responders that care that much.

I never knew this that first responders can talk to obviously deceased victims as if they are still alive. That actually almost made me tear up as I lost a friend from high school in a car accident as he was a passenger. I still think about him here and there after all these years :) thanks for sharing that x

My dad was a firefighter and there were days when we as kids were kindly instructed to be quiet and let dad be for the day so he could rest. Not knowing then, but it was because he wasn’t just putting out fires in the city of Sacramento where we lived, but because of things like this that he commonly did. Bless the first responders who have to deal with this on the daily. It does go home with them too.

My eldest took her own life, once I was over the shock my attention turned to the police and members of public who tended to her after she was found. I sent them pictures of her beautiful face in life rather than always have the image they had of her. A vibrant 25yr old who’s mental health got too bad to live with. Rip this fella.

Victoria I'm so sorry about your beautiful daughter! 😢😢😢 My daughter passed away in 2019 from a very rare and torturous disease with 100% fatality in 6 months, my daughter was 24 yrs old. I pray that you hear your daughters laughter in the times when the silence is painful to bare. I pray that you see visions of her (when you dream and are awake) with a smile so bright and filled with warmth it brings a peace that surpasses all understanding on the days that each moment feels like a mental maze. I pray that you are surrounded with arms always open and sturdy enough to support you in whatever you are feeling and need to express, and that you have the continued courage to express whatever you're feeling whenever you need to. Mother to Mother, I will keep you and your family in my continued prayers of love, peace, and strength. Thank you for sharing about your daughter. I hate that I'm not alone in the pain of losing a child, but the strength of mothers like you sharing with such courage truly blesses and encourages others like me. 💜💜💜💜

When I was a nurse, I saw some pretty horrible things, but NOTHING compares to what these first responders have to see and deal with. I honestly don't know how they do it and am in awe of them. It must be hugely traumatic and I just hope that they receive the support and counselling that they will need when having to attend horrific incidents such as this.

I was right behind an accident that happened a few years ago. The truck turned in front of the 16 year old kid. The impact ripped the whole top off the car. I jumped and and went to the kid. He was laying flat as the seat was laid all the way back. There was little blood so I was hoping the kid had a chance. I started looking for a pulse and found none. The M.E. said he died at impact. I had to go to court to testify. That court trail went on for 5 years with appeals. I can still see the kid today.

Some of the comments here aren't much better. Respect for others and even plain decency are qualities that most people don't even pretend to have anymore. I'm middle aged, not nearly as old as I feel. I have three adult children and a teenager still at home so I don't think that I'm necessarily out of touch yet, but it almost seems like those qualities are out of date. Things of the past. My mama raised me right though cause I'm still scared to say some things out loud in case she hears and I get smacked in the mouth lol. I raised my kids the same. I expected my kids to behave in public the same way whether I was there or not. Even as adults because the way they conduct themselves is a representation of me and my parenting skills. I would be embarrassed if someone ever told me that my kids spoke or behaved in a way that is unacceptable.

Why would family member or friend go to online video sites looking for footage of a loved one (potentially) laying on the road with their guts exposed. Worse yet, read the comments from strangers who probably enjoy frequenting snuff and gore sites? People can say whatever they want. With all due respect, if family members want to read the comments, that's their problem.

But expensive, fast, powerful cars can also be driven very safely at well under the speed limit--many are sublimely enjoyable, comfortable, safe and rewarding to own and use at slow speeds. I own a beautiful 19-year-old Mercedes E350--it is always such a great joy to potter slowly around in. My previous car, a Mercedes 300E who passed away at age 28 years was also simply in another sphere altogether compared to normal consumer cars.

I don't know any of this particular story, but I have personally encountered a mechanical failure in one of my old cars where part of the carburettor came apart and left it stuck open at full throttle. As a young driver I didn't know any better and I switched the runaway engine off which of course meant no brakes as well. Like I say, I don't know about this particular accident but mechanical failure can sometimes be a factor in why things happen.

Nice catch. Since this is a front wheel drive car, he must have been driving fast when one of his front tires blew out causing him to lose control. Someone mentioned a bottle of 1800 was in the car, as well.

I wonder if this was on purpose and maybe the bottle of booze was for liquid courage. If this was just a DUI, he had to be really whacked out of his mind to be going that fast. Either way, the outcome was just awful. Prayers for the life lost, his soul, and his family who will have to live with this forever.

Shit can just happen though, don't need to be going fast, you can die when in a vehicle that's not even moving, feel afraid if you are at the end of a cue of vehicles that at a crawl or not moving due to a slow vehicle or something stopping the traffic , when it happens on a blind corner feel the fear, a truck or vehicle at open road speed comes around the corner to see 10 vehicles at a crawl or stopped, in this moments you turn around go back up the road and put your hazard lights on and wave down traffic. Make them slow down,

Too bad school systems think it's not important enough to keep drivers ed & training in the school system (As well as home eco) now with the pandemic parents/guardians who ever TPTB are in shock etc.... Why get rid of basics unless it is for just simply trying to weed out? Seems like since the education flew the coop more of these accidents have been occurring in an extreme rate.. idk but something has change

I truly honestly wished/ pray that folks would just slow down and or put their cellphones away while operating a vehicle I watched a video and a woman was making a left turn and she turned to wide and slammed into a concrete wall 😭 it was totally avoidable. People if you don’t love yourselves enough to stay alive while driving and not using a cell or driving to fast than at least do it for someone else whom does love themselves and respects other drivers by not using a cell or driving to fast after all they took this into consideration when they got behind a wheel 😭😭😭😭
