He's a happy healthy mouse living out his days with me and my cat is jealous. I love Squeaks and feel he's a gift from my beloved cat. Don't get me wrong, I love animals to a fault; yes, a fault. I do know people don't like mice or rats because they are known for spreading disease which is primarily passed through their urine and feces. On a practical level, mice and rats chew threw wires including the ones in your car. I was fortunate that they were able to fix the wire that a rat chewed through on my brand new car. They were not sure they would be able to Had they not been able to get that wire back together, the entire electrical system/ the harness would not have worked thus totaling the car. When I first moved to my house, I had to get rid of rats that got into the ventilation system; so, I bought live traps and began a relocation program. I still feel kind of bad. The next to last one I caught was the big daddy and when I released him he stopped and looked at me and if looks could kill - I destroyed his family 😥 Pack Rats are really cool animals with different rooms in their homes for restroom, sleep, food storage. I wish I had released them all in the same place, hindsight being 20/20. I think this little village that the photographer built is wonderful. I think we need to understand one another too.

It's likely because this increases the mouse population which increases the poison being used in the area which increases the number of animals poisoned who have eaten the mice. Anywhere from stray cats trying to survive and keeping the population down to local foxes or coyotes. People who see the big picture get depressed easier but I think the OUTDOOR poison is the problem, not the mice, and that we should be increasing the circle of life to prevent extinctions. Not that mice or cats need the help. Also, waste via plastics but, again, minimal usage and people probably tip to see the show which helps the upkeep. Thus, still gave it a thumbs up! Got to balance pessimism not with optimism but realism. He's cool!

I did this in Arizona in our yard. But it was for ground Squirrels. Our home was on 1.1 acres. We had eight family of ground Squirrels making their home around the land. Perfectly round holes going deep in the ground. I put out eight covered wagons from lowes, and filled them up with sunflower seeds, carrots and lettuce. Every morning I called them Sweet Pea and they would pop their head out of the hole and run to the wagon and eat their food. Their would be Squirrels running across the road down the road getting some food. Their was some bushes around the yard and they would climb up the branches and swing on them. It was great watching them play. They brought enjoyment to my life. Before we moved to Florida all eight family of Squirrels had babies. It was such a joy having them on our property. Miss them so much! 🐿

This is the best thing I have ever seen. I'm not even if sure if that's an exaggeration.

This is adorable! My co-worker use to make doll houses and was surprised when a mouse took residence in it once day and promptly built a nest on the doll bed! These guys are smarter than they look and just want a safe place to live. Just not in my kitchen, they are messy roommates! These guys are lucky to have their own little neighbor hood outside.

Humor me: A man does this exact same thing in the 16th century, but he lives in a rural area and eventually dies. His property is passed on to distant relatives or complete strangers. They find his little mouse village on the property, and their imaginations go wild. "Fairies? Little people!? Who made this little village?" Suddenly a local folktale is born.

@@mightymouse5029 but if the hamster gets free, it'll die in no time cuz it's domesticated already, no survival skills at all that's why we give them big enclosures and nature-like habitat for we love them so much 😉🤭💖

@@mightymouse5029 That's better but there are just too many hamsters outside of their real habitat now. When I started caring for them I always cried because they deserved better, to be free in their natural habitat but what can I do, there are many inhumane people just breeding them for money. Don't get me wrong, I don't buy hamsters, therefore supporting the abuse, I only buy the hamsters that pet owners don't want to take care of anymore, I always adopt or give adoption fees when they demand it. I just want to make them eat safe food and get healthy in my hands before they die. I'm sorry, I get your point but I have also read researches where domesticated animals don't live long in the wild when you get them back there because survival skills got lost in the domestication and inbreeding that's why I said those words. I feel that you care deeply for animals and you're fed up with people that mistreat them, I am too, and I thank you for being a kind person!
