Man behind famous ‘Phoenix Lights’ footage still mystified, 26 years later

Mike Krzyston doesn't know if he videotaped a military aircraft, a UFO, or something else entirely back on March 13, 1997. But he has his doubts about the U.S. government's official explanation.

I spoke to someone that saw it, he said the intersections in Phoenix are set out in a grid a mile apart. He said it flew over his head while him and his brother were out star gazing and the craft was the width of the intersection, so it was roughly a mile in size from tip to tip. He also mentioned that it made a low humming noise. Which makes me believe he's telling the truth because I too had a close encounter with a football field sized disc in 1999 that was a little higher than the surrounding rooftops that also made a low deep humming sound.

You drop flares from an aircraft and see what happens to them. You will find out what happens when gravity takes over. As a matter of fact, throw yourself off the plane and see what happens to you. Gravity does work. Whatever this was defied the laws of gravity. No plane, no flares.

a year ago above my city in the evening, I noticed 15 bright lights like satellites next to each other to change into a delta formation. I don't know what it could be. Starlink satellites go one behind the other, this changed the shape of the formation.

This specific video was debunked. It was actually flares. Not saying the rest of the arizona lights sightings were flares, but in this case what you don't see is the mountain range. It's why they disappear out of order.

  • @meb280

That is utterly ridiculous. Flares don't align like that. They also emit visible smoke, which will be illuminated by the light. Thirdly, it sounds absurd that the military would drop flares over a major metropolitan area, such as Phoenix, or over any populated area for that matter. And, yes, they were OVER the city because people saw it over the city.

@@meb280 wrong. "Within days, Tucson Weekly broke the news that the Maryland Air National Guard, in Arizona for winter training, had a squad of A-10 fighters over the gunnery range that night, and they had dropped flares. An Arizona National Guard public information officer, Captain Eileen Bienz, had determined that the flares had been dropped at 10 p.m. over the North Tac range 30 miles southwest of Phoenix, at an unusually high altitude: 15,000 feet. The "disappearance" was actually the lights dropping behind the Sierra Estrella mountain range. Channel 12 filmed a similar dropping of flares by military planes, which Ortega reported as looking "remarkably like the 10 p.m. lights of March 13."

Thanks for deleting my comment youtube. 🖕 There were two events that night: a "vee pattern" of lights that flew across the state north-to-south, which crossed Phoenix around 8:30 p.m., and a second set of nine lights that seemed to hover over Phoenix, before apparently disappearing. These hovering lights were dropped from Maryland national guard a10's during "operation snowbird" miles away just past the sierra estrella mountains. As for the first event, a man in Scottsdale looking through a large Dobsonian telescope identified the lights as being attached to planes. It was plain to see, [Mitch] Stanley says. Under magnification, Stanley could clearly see that each light split into pairs, one each on the tips of squarish wings. Even under the telescope's power, the planes appeared small, indicating that they were flying high. Stanley says he followed the planes for about a minute, then turned his telescope to more interesting objects. "They were planes. There's no way I could have mistaken that," he says.

"All I'm saying is, yes, we had aircraft flying in that area doing night illuminations. These guys were flying it. They were there. We can prove it. Whether people want to believe it was the mysterious lights, it's up to them." -Captain Drew Sullins, Maryland Air National Guard

The military sent planes out IN RESPONSE to the UFO sighting. Unfortunately for them, it was 30 minutes to an hour AFTER the incident. The UFO was seen by eyewitnesses from near Flagstaff all the way to near Tucson. It was a single craft that blocked out the stars as it travelled overhead. And, again, the lights STAYED IN FORMATION for well over an hour. If you actually see what flares DO look like at night, they look nothing like the Phoenix Lights. And as well, it makes absolutely NO SENSE why you would conduct flare dropping over a population center. The authorities made up a story to explain this away, pure and simple. Not the first time they've done such a thing, by the way.

@@youtubeisinconsistent9169 The fact that they flew these things over urban area, that they had lights just affirms that this was probably some surveillance system working with triangulation tech and GPS possibly. Because without the light you could not even demonstrate the coordination ability that well during your test. No way you fly random shit over a crowded city very slowly without the USAF and FAA knowing about it. Those where early drones part of a surveillance system or possible experimental riot control system. It would not even surprise me if it was some kind of urban-specific military tactical weapon and/or smoke screen system being tested. These lights suspiciously showed up in and around Kiev as well recently. The organizations that stay weirdly silent on this often know the most about it. Aliens would not care about day or night flying or even need some bright lights on their 'secret' interstellar probes because that just silly sci-fi thinking.

@@theyshouldhavenevergivenme5439 according to mitch stanley who was using a dobsonion telescope it wasn't even that exciting. The first "v" shape that flew over was a formation of planes at high altitude with "square shaped wings" with lights on each wingtip, which coincides with the a10's that later dropped flairs over the gunnery range past the mountain ridge.
