Man alone: Solo Catch & Cook aboard Old Ancient Boat

Ойын-сауық

Man alone: Solo Catch & Cook aboard an old ancient wood mahogany boat. It’s another full length film of just under an hour from when Graeme ventured out to sea, alone on the empty ocean, searching for something to eat...His target? To do a Catch & Cook actually aboard the 50 year old wood boat in the waters of South Devon. He even tries a bit of "chumming" with his special mix of Rapta Oil, Bran and mashed up fish with his intended quarry being a Porbeagle shark, as he wants to be the first to catch one from the self-drive rental boat...It’s rods-aplenty as he tries lots of different baits and rigs in an attempt to find some fish on the notoriously slow Neap tides...A slow day at sea is better than a good day doing jobs for the wife!! Sit back and see how he goes about his session…

Hi Graeme, Playing catchup as usual at the moment due to health. Op next month. Went fishing yesterday and caught my biggest mackerel ever at a quiet local that i know. I saw it jumping around alone and after an hour caught it. The fish stripped line like ive never had before and when landed it was longer than my coolbox. I know it's only a mackerel but it made my day. Never had a fish strip line like that before. Gave it away to friends for their barbeque. Best As Always, Steve in Fife.

G'day Graeme. Have you tried marinara mix for bait? I buy it from Woolworths (Tesco in UK land?) In the deli/seafood section. Usually it has prawns, squid rings and 2 or 3 types of fish in chunks. The bit of garlic and parsley they add doesn't seem to put the fish off. I think it would have to be my favourite supermarket bait. Tight lines mate.

I just had a fry up of 2 angus beef burgers, fried onions, fried roma tomato halves sliced vertically & sliced vintage block cheese on small 3 inch round buttered buns with fresh ground sea salt & fresh ground black pepper. Wow it was sooooo juicy & yummy mm mmm. I find that if you are using a cast iron pan or stainless steel pan with a bit of butter the tomatoes taste really nice when they are fried until the flat side is burned a little as it adds to the taste & if you cook both sides until the tomato becomes mushy it's like having a natural replacement for tomato sauce.

The first time I saw you fishing was when you caught the shark. I do enjoy watching you because you have a natural way about you. What I am going to say is something you would probably think " omg a woman watching here we go ". You seem a bit slap happy with the fish, they do have a feelings, obviously they want to escape being yanked out of thier environment. Then you toss them back into the sea like your chum. Your chopping board needs a bleach, just saying. Nevertheless your son has inherited super genes he is top of his class in everything bushcraft and building. Plus you have a great sense of humour ( I hope ) your easy on the eye 😊 Please forgive my impertinence 😋 Love and Light

No worries Jane of Torquay. With sea fish they return better going back in fast, unlike freshwater fish which are best released slowly .Standard seas return is called"spearing" the fish in to provide shock and instant oxygen over the gills . In the States and Canada they stock their big lakes by dumping the trout out of a moving plane...its the truth, can be checked out. Thanks for taking the time to comment. And yes,you may be right about bleaching the chopping board, but the one on the boat is plastic, supplied by the owner, not mine.
