Yes with a bit of fettling it should be fine. Luckily there's still a good supply of spares available. Best regards Nigel

Going to fulfill a childhood dream. Had two friends who had mamods as a kid. I intend to buy the brass finish traction engine. I am tempted by the stationary engines. Great video thanks.

Hi David, Glad you liked the video. I've noticed some very nice set ups on ebay regarding stationary engines. Plenty of machinery also to add for it to drive. Kind regards, Nigel

Pretty neat little thing. Reminds me of Trevor the traction engine from Thomas & Friends back in the day.

It does doesn't it LOL. In many ways you need to treat it like the full sized as forgetting to put water in it will cause an explosion. Definitely to be avoided :))

That is pretty cool. We have a museum about an hour drive away from where I live that has real prototypes and they used to fire one once a year at the annual county fair for the parade. Thanks for sharing! - Jason

@@SeabreezeStation I believe people can convert the engine to use the Solid fuel made by Mamod. I converted my three engines because I thought it would be better than the original fuel.

@@eliotreader8220 Definitely a lot safer. In the past nearly set the house on fire a few times with methylated spirit leaks. Got a lot better at it now. :)

Hi, thanks! Great hobby. Glad your son is interested in steam power. No chance of my grown up children being even slightly interested. Now to try the grandchildren. Take care, Nigel

Just found on in a shop for $40 american dollars. Me and my dad have wanted one for a while and thier hard to get here in the states but i found it in an antique shop, my new problem is finding the methylated alcohol for it.

Hi, you have a bargain there. The cheapest to buy here on say e-bay are £70 upwards. We can still get methylated spirits from DIY stores as well as some substitute liquids which do the job. Hope you have fun with it.

Lovely cute little engine. I'm sure my uncle had one that he used to run in the garden. I think it was a bigger though, one you could sit on.

I've seen those larger models at rallies alongside the full sized. Look like they would be a lot of fun to ride.

You forgot the oil! You should always oil all the moving parts such as the piston etc with steam oil or another suitable thick oil (not 3 in 1). Your engine will thank me later!
