Taking a look at the beautiful Mamod FE1 Fire Engine and firing it up to see the small steam engine in action outdoors.
This Kit, number 1404, was purchased in 2002 / 2003 and uses the solid wax fuel tablets as opposed to the Methylated spirits burner used on the older models

Yeah it's great fun to just watch haha
All you seem to need is a servo and transmitter and receiver and a break servo.

Haha thanks mate 😀. I thought I'd take it down to the track where it's nice and flat 😅
And a throttle servo.
You should make it RC that would be cooler.

your Mamod fire engine looked amazing when it was running and seeing the old girl in action has made me think about possibly getting one. do you still remember how much you paid for it back in 2003? i paid 100.69 pounds for my steam roller at the 2019 Great Dorset steam fair.

Ah you absolutely should! it's a stunning model. Hmm, actually I don't really remember. I have a feeling it was around £270 possibly. I'm pretty sure it was actually cheaper than it is now from new, and that was from Hamley haha. Not a bad price for the roller 👌. Actually we've got an FE1 coming up for sale on the RC Empire website in a month or so once it's launched. www.rcempire.co.uk If you wanted to sign up for updates, it should be on there as soon as the site is open 🙂
And make it 10-20mph.

20MPH ! 😅 we might do haha. It does actually look pretty simple. I remember they used to do twin piston model too that you could actually RC.

I would love to see you do that to that one looks simple to do it please give it a try and show the company who made it and suggest they make some it could be the next craz as for nitro fans.
