If you look at the blades, with two holes, it gives the blades four cutting edges. When the first edge gets dull, using the same hole, just flip the blade over. Now Laba will be using what was the trailing edge of the first side. When this edge gets dull, leave the same side up, just rotate the blade to use the other hole. When the third edge gets dull, flip the blade over, using the same hole. This lets you use all four edges of the blades over time. Doing this, you should be able to get one full season out of one set of blades.

Other manufactures have done this so that blades are alternating rotating direction. I asked this also from Mammotion, but they support services are just awful! Answer time is about 1,5 months so its about one or two question during the mawing season here in Finland. For me Luba is not able to mawn at all near house or under any tree. Even one big tree which only have branches in top can stop this mower. In some part of task areas it seems that Luba will get lost everytime and can do some unwanted damage easily. My model is original kickstarter 5000 and iam also worrying about how long this machine will work? After rain it will leak some water from rear axel. Rain sensor have worked just one time. Cutting blades are also engineered not so well as cutted gras will come out with big lumps or get stuck underneath. There is also space between blades which are leaving uncutted crass behind as well as those massive tires do. So you need to trim after every usage of Luba your yard, not only edges. They talk about 20 satellites but for me 20 simultaneus satellites wont be enough for precice location so i think there is deffinetly bug in software. Also if you change overlapping space, it drives Luba to go over borders which is also software bug. Software is also missing randomizing feature so Luba will create visible paths, which are not wanted for anybodyes yard. So there is a lot to improve by team. I really hope this machine will last long enough so that they can get software parts (both Android and Luba) to work correctly. There is plenty of easy fix they could do but i dont know what is teams knoweledge is software developing? In my opinion wait two years before bying this product, maybe is in better shape at that poiint.

Just switch disc positions. They counter rotate, so you thus save one blade flip and have less screw movements by having the trailing edge become leading.

Only tip i have is, if you have a tree, don't buy a Luba. Edit: I was about to give up. I had my RTK on a 15' pole over my 2nd story roof, and it still said weak signal. Everywhere I went the mower said weak. I drove it to tge edge of the property, and it said fine. I got done extension cords and ran the RTK over. Finally it allowed me to map a section. I thought, big deal, it still can't mow 97% off the yard. Now that the RTK was good, it didn't seem to care what the mower was under or behind. Back yard on the other side of the house, no problem. Huge relief having this working. $2,800 gamble.

Very strange. We had no issue getting signal.

I have the 1000 and like you I don’t use a schedule but manually send it out when needed, which is a couple times a week. When not in use, I drive it into the garage and power it down. No need to leave it exposed to the elements when not in use. When I send it out to cut the front yard, I keep an eye on it to prevent anyone thinking they can grab it up. I had the Landroid previously and it did well, but this AWD GPS mower is much much better, especially as I have a slope in my yard. I’ve not had any problems so far with its performance or function. It should be noted, if you do have a problem, the response time from the company is dismal/lacking based on anecdotal evidence from FB groups. Perhaps this will get better in time. I also upgraded my 3-year old Landroid. Agree…the Luba is a better product, although it’s not perfect and nearly triple the price. Works out a bit better for me, as I’m replacing TWO Landroids. The Luba can handle traversing our disconnected front and back yards.

Mine is working great so far. It's early days , still on the first mowing season but this is replacing a Worx Landroid that performed well for about 5 years. I am loving the expanded cutting area and the ease of use and having to not bury additional wire is priceless. I spent 2 days last time, staking down around .65 acre with boundary wire. Cut quality is great but I do have to say, it is quite slow. It's taking close to 48 hours to double cut a little over an acre but that's not a big deal as it's consistently good at finding it's way home to recharge and then continue.

Yes. I defined the zones to straddle the sidewalk and driveway. Even have the wheels ride the curb.

to clean my lubes cutting deck i use a small silicone spatula to get into and behind all the small areas to loosen everything. then i use my leaf blower to blow all that away. it doesnt get everything but removes 99% of the grass. i just dont want to even chance getting water in the mower

Read the User Manual, the Luba Mowers are only accurate to 15cm (6 inches), when operating on the minimum of 20 GPS Satellites and improves in accuracy to 5cm (2 inches) when both the Mower & RTK Antenna are receiving 29 to 31 clear Satellite signals each. It's the reason that Mammotion recommends staying 4 to 6 inches from Fences, Curbs or other border obstacles when Mapping a mowing zone or No-Go zone.

Since you've claimed to "know" the "Technical" limitations of this Mower, pages 17, 20 and 58 of the User Manual disagree with your stated Mowing accuracy claim. The fact is, it's 15 times that amount. Not even close. I think Mammotion would hear from the Owners of this Robot Mower if they made accuracy claims like that. I didn't build this thing or write the User Manual but if I were to spend the $2K price tag for this Lawn Mower expecting 1 centimeter Mowing accuracy, I'd be more than disappointed. Read the User Manual.

We’ve only got one season under our belt, but we love it. Works great. Never goes off the curb.

I would like Mammotion to add a rain delay option to the Luba. I already has a rain sensor. It should be able to continue cutting X many hours after it stops raining. I should not need to manually continue the cutting process. Much less expensive robot lawnmowers have this feature, why not the Luba?

@@handydadtv I do have a garage for both robotic lawnmowers. I have noticed that the 100% humidity and the lower temperature (it cools dow when it rains) sets off the rain sensor on both my Landroid and Luba, during heavy rain. If the sensor is not set off (very light rain shower), as soon as the mower moves out of their garages and get wet, they return to their garage. While it is raining the sensor does not dry, it stays wet and will stay wet until the rain stops. Then the timing (delay) starts only when the sensor dries, allowing the grass to dry out also. I live in Florida, there is dew on everything early in the morning, this includes my two robotic lawnmowers. This also sets off the rain sensor. I check my Landroid and it shows "Rain Delay" when I get up a 6am. By 7am the sensor is dry and it is counting down when it can start. I have a 4 hour delay. So the delay will clear around 11am. That is about the time when the grass is dry enough to cut.

I just got the 1000. It's having problems returning to the charger because it has to cross a sidewalk to the 1st zone. Is there any way to create a path from the charger to the 1st zone?

After using the Worx Landroid Vision 800 for some weeks and returning it, I am very interested in the Luba. My concerns are: a) I have some trees at the edges of the lawn. Plus a cherry tree in the middle of the lawn. I wonder how many trees are necessary to prevent the Luba from mowing or getting the position exactly. b) I have a front yard and a back yard, connected with 2 meters of grass. I wonder where to position the RTK station. Does the luba always need line of sight to the RTK? Or is it OK to have it 60 meters away on the other side of the house? It doesn’t need line of sight to the RTK. It’s more important for the RTK and dock to have a good view of the sky. In my experience, Luba works fine under trees but may slow down or stop momentarily. If you buy one, please use my link. It really helps the channel.

@JornSeidenschnur I didn’t overthink it and went with the easiest approach first. I installed it on the fence between two houses, but it has a clear view of the Southern sky. If it didn’t work there, I’d keep moving it until it worked.

@@handydadtv The RTK needs electricity at the point of installation plus line of sight. This limits my opportunities, or adds challenge for an electrician to place electricity outside and onto the roof. But anyway, this will be less work than putting a border line around my entire garden and start repairing it three times a year…

Buyer beware.

I have a robot vacuum, and it's uncanny. One would think for over 10x the price that robotic mowers would be more accurate, reliable, and better at avoiding hazards. The electric riding mowers are more to my liking and as soon as a "self-driving" riding mower is available, I'm in!

Yes, the boundary-free robots are a lot more expensive.

As an owner of a Husqvarna 430x for 5 years, and now a very disappointed owner of the Luba, you'll certainly want/need a blade guard to prevent grass from clogging the blades. They spin freely to bounce off and spin away from hard objects such as sticks, rocks, etc to prevent premature dulling or snapping the blades. The husqvarna had a guard built into it but Luba does not and this is a major pain point. The other issues with the Luba is it's surprisingly bad cutting ability as it consistently leaves uncut grass behind or misses long patches of grass unless I use the grid pattern but this leads to the other major problem. The Luba will absolutely DESTROY your yard. Flat parts and inclines all suffer from severely eroded patches where the Luba turns and I've tried both zero turn as well as 3 point turn. The luba has become a $3000 disappointment in my experience.

Personally, the learning curve was a little frustrating but I can't wait for next summer when it's 110 degrees and 75% humidity and I'm NOT changing 32" blades, tires or oil on my TORO riding mower that rips up my yard anyway. But that's just me. @@handydadtv

@handydadtv I totally agree... There aren't too many issues with the lift motor, in videos.I'm going to send it back and hopefully get another one... I've never changed the lift motor height. It always stayed on 2.8 for two weeks, and now it stays on the lowest setting.

Mine never worked at all. They ignored requests for a refund. The warranty is only two seasons, one for the RTK. Half my warranty is gone and it’s never cut a single blade of grass.

Could you do a video on wiring up a breaker box for a generator I believe I have the idea how to do it and I've watched several videos but the way you explain the light switch and the light from a plug was very easy for me to understand so it would be really helpful if you could do a generator one that isn't overly complicated thank you

I can't use anything which requires gas (I'm terminal, and in a double lung transplant program, plus I have my Service Dog), and I have a few machines that I need, as well as my main and mini fridge and upright freezer, to remain on in case of an outage. Working with a fixed income here so that's a major consideration for me. Thanks for taking the time for your videos, and Q & A responses! Btw, I had some angels who bought me the Luba 2 5000h, (I'm highly allergic to grass especially freshly cut), and it worked great until yesterday when the positioning will not connect (weak signal) even though there's nothing to impede the rfk, and my luba is in my patio a mere 6ft away from the rfk. I'm thinking problem with the new update? It worked beautifully before. Thank you so very much, and be blessed, sir!

My generator was a 16kw Generac fueled by natural gas. I saw “was” because I move in January 2024. The new house doesn’t have a generator.

I have a LINE of white pine and blue spruce to the west of my house, 2 pin oaks and 6 apple trees in my back yard. I emailed Luba prior to purchase to question them about this? They told me as long as the RTK is mounted up high for a signal? It's gonna work. To my surprise, although I'm raking apples and pine cones, it really does work. They have a 30 day return policy I believe.

​@@wrad8292then you have luck. I have 5 trees and if he drive under them, the Position Signal is lost. I wonder why it can be, cause the rtk Station is visible. I cant explain why. Ofc under the trees the GPS Signal is a little bit lower but for this we have the rtk Station, that should show it strengh. But it seems the rtk is useless in this situations. I hope they work an this. And the anti-thief this is a joke. Here they have to Design an Upgrade. I mean realy like others have. The mover is super, but they have to thx us for testing theire product. Cause it is inder construction still. And for this price we are like a sponsor. Not like clients. The same if you have a Swimmingpool puh it will be very risky to use. This cant be. The same with the shoe. I think Here is only a Hardware Upgrade needed. They could make this like this. All that bought this exist Version could send it to servicecenter and will get this Upgrade (maybe ne chasis with all thus options, maybe with cam and ai) maybe for a little bit money. But if they not do this, it is like a very expensive super mover but in a beta.

Customer support is extremely slow to respond and they don’t seem to understand English. Have requested a refund twice, instead they sent another Luba. I canceled the credit card charge, but since it’s an international charge, I may not get refunded. The product is iffy, customer support is gawd awful.

Centimeter accuracy? I call bullshit. You will be lucky if it stays within 15 cm. And when you ask Mammotion for help they will blow you off. Mine also cuts off center. It overlaps a bunch going one direction and leaves a strip going the other.

@@handydadtv Well Mammotion's solution is always to map further away from boundaries and no-go zones. If I follow their advice pretty soon I may as well just cut my lawn with my weed whacker. Prospective buyers need to realize it is not all sugar and honey with this machine and that when things go wrong there will likely be no help from Mammotion.
