Nice list, lots of games in there I have never heard of so will give them a try. Personally I would have definitely have had Space Harrier in there and Outrun would have scored higher in the list, it’s easily the best and most popular racer to ever grace arcades 😀👍 Would be good to see some lists on specific genres of arcade games 👍

@@gamebermuda I think the filter looks awful, I love the old pixelated look. But at least it was a decision. I was sure it was a mistake. Anyway it's kind of misrepresenting the way they look while being played as well.

It’s because art designed for CRT monitors was never intended to be viewed with pixel precision. The artists took into account the blurring and blending of the monitor technology. Of course, no filter perfectly captures that look so it’s not a clear win either way.

Of course, the best results are obtained with a CRT monitor or TV. With a modern monitor without tube technology, this can be done quite well with Scanline generators (hardware) and not only looks original but also behaves like an original PCB. I have tested this and have forgotten after a short time that I am sitting at a Raspberry Pie.

It also depends on the size of the screen your using. On a handheld device this filter looks amazing. But on bigger screens i think scanline filter works better. Gives it a retro feel

Great list, but I wouldn't have applied filters on pixel art games. Not that it looks bad, but in some cases it changes the look of the original completely. Ideally, most of those games should be played on a CRT screen for the best experience anyway.

I use this shader on many of my MAME games as well. Just depends on the game for me. Some I leave alone completely or just use a scanline filter and some I use something like this. To each their own.

This isn't how the games look while being played, nor is it a filter you can apply in Mame. The unnatural smoothness is because of an effect applied in a video editing program.

Metamorphic Force was listed as just Metamorphic, Moon Patrol was listed as Moon Petrol, and I have no idea what source you're using for the number rankings, but it would have been good to cite it. Video games are a very crowded market on youtube, this sort of content has its uses but it's not going to go anywhere unless you also do analysis or reviews or something. I honestly thought a bot might have made this. It also annoyed me that the game titles would pop up and be visible for a split second before the transition played. 99% of people aren't gonna complain about that though, I am a weirdo. Good luck though.

its not listed here but anyone maybe remembers the name of the game that had top down view, you walked as a soldier from botton of the screen to top, you could play multiplayer and you could enter tanks. I was too young to remember the rest. I think you arrived to missions on boat or chooper, not sure.

Not even close to my top 150. I guess each of us has our own ideas on the top 150 MAME games. MAME was originally designed to emulate 1980's arcade classics. And that era would dominate most of my top 150 titles. You had some, but far too many karate fighting games and other stuff.

3:34 very underrated

Desert assault are twice repeated as top 11 & 5. Too many Street Fighter Alpha 2, consolidate just one & add special comments to highlight feature if needed. Top 62 also wrongly titled as Breakers Revenge, should be Street Fighter vs Marvel thingie, dunno which one tho. Top 1 didn't even show, video just ends abruptly.

É um filtro, 2HQX não é original do jogo, é uma questão de gosto muita gente não gosta porque muda o estilo gráfico do pixel art.

Editing was annoying a bit. Titles didn’t last too long to what the game is and that obnoxious top counter took way too long and should have not been there at all. Would have been nice to just not see that “top” title card and jump right into the next game with its title at the bottom…

Its official mame arcade emulator u can go search google mame emulator after download search for roms b name i suggest u coolrom and other sites u can search google to download mame arcade roms After that Add these roms to mame arcade roms directory and open mame and search all available roms now u can double click from the availabe roms and enjoy..

What game was number 1 Tetris was number 2 and then it said number 1 but the video ended before it showed what number 1 was.

Δύο παρατηρήσεις. Πρώτον. Πολλά απ' τα παιχνίδια του ΜΑΜΕ δεν παίζουν. Ασχέτως με το αν έχεις βάλει τα bioses στον φάκελλο Roms. Ασφαλώς κάτι λείπει! Χαίρω πολύ, το ξέρω. Αλλά τι; Γιατί δεν υπάρχει ένα ΜΑΜΕ έτοιμο; 'Εστω χωρίς τις roms, μα έτοιμο τουλάχιστον στα υπόλοιπα. 'Ολο το στήσιμο. Δεύτερη παρατήρηση. Σε μερικά παιχνίδια, ο χειρισμός είναι άκρως προβληματικός, ή ελλιπής. Προσοχή. Δεν αναφέρομαι σε παιχνίδια όχι ολοκληρωμένα, ή όχι απολύτως συμβατά. Αλλά σε games που κατά τα άλλα φαίνεται να λειτουργούν... κανονικά! Λείπουν στοιχεία απ' τον χειρισμό! Για παράδειγμα, σε ένα πολύ παλιό ποδοσφαιράκι που έπαιζα, λείπει η κεφαλιά! Και δεν υπάρχει αντιστοίχιση κουμπιού.
