Malifaux 3rd edition battle report- Cornelius Basse vs Jack Daw

This is a Malifaux 3rd edition battle report- 50 Soulstones, Basse vs Jack Daw- and it's a lunchbreak battle report- you can watch it over lunch! Or dinner! Or a little snack! The point is you have to be eating.

That's a very good one. 3 key thins in battle report for me is: It is not too long, table and models are well visible and camera is not shaky - all that works here well. Great job guys.

Thank you for the positive feedback. We agree on those three criteria being helpful for a battle report

This is batrep format I enjoy the most. Quick and clean. One question, how long the game actually took? I'm under impression, that mine are way too long.

The games usually run about three hours, but we take copious notes throughout, so that certainly adds to play time.

Nice batrep. So in retrospect, who would you have swapped into Jack's crew to go chasing those strategy points, and who would get dumped for them?

Good question- I think I would have switched out Jakuna for another hanged- with their mask trigger, the hanged can fly across the board, and since they can use soulstones, they can rely on getting their mask. I would have switched out Leave your mark for Assassinate, as I've discovered that Basse can be brought down if you focus fire on him. Montressor could have used his obey to push the hanged forward, and then gummed up the middle of the field to deny my opponent the center. Also, this is a case of playing the same opponent over and over- he knew damn well what I intended to do with Jakuna, so I should have pump-faked him a little more. This is what I absolutely love about this game- the way you play each battle is vastly different depending on the scheme/strat- no two games ever play even remotely the same.

Hmm so both times against the creapy drowned lady he used a stone to focus but should have been just on a STD flip. Both tines he flipped 2 cards both tines thst second card won the duel. Should have not taken any hits for first 2 turns. Makes a big difference

Looks like the Basse player didn't take the benefits of Home on the Range for the deeper deployment. Was this just an oversight? Also: "Score points people *can opens* That's a beer" got me to actually laugh out loud.

I believe it was an oversight- but since it was wedge deployment, he may have been just as close as he wanted to be. Honestly, I can't remember- sometimes the 'film a battle' part overshadows the 'play a smart game' part ;)

I do believe these were the Gaining Ground Season one schemes- check your Malifaux app- it should have the latest version of gaining grounds- these are generally used instead of the book schemes
