Malia is a very entitled, spoiled little sh*t. Aside from what she did to Hannah, she also slept her way through her lead deckhand position in an earlier season. I have never liked her since.

He’s limping. It’s obviously more than a bruise. She should’ve reported the injury.

Wasn't Hannah (justifiably) fired for failing to notify the Captain about her prescription tablets? Wasn't it Malia who rooted through her personal belongings to photograph her tablets in order to set her up.....oh, the irony!

Actually I think Hannah being fired was peremptory and unnecessary - prescription drugs are legal. Sandy is a bit over-bearing, imo.

Doesn't matter if the injuries a major or minor one, if you're injured while on the job, an incident report must be filed. There are liability concerns for the employer. I can't believe Malia is that arrogant to not understand that.

I really don’t know why took Sandy so long to realize how Malia does only what benefits her. How she uses people. She should have been fired since she came on the show. She started with a lie,and manipulating the chef and her boss at the same time. Got an underserved promotion then and only showed Sandy the picture against Hanna because she didn’t want to move out of her room in order to Malia sleep with her (another) Chef boyfriend. If she was worried about the ship and not a vendeta,she would have shown the captain when it happened and not when suited her. Wake up,Sandy!

I completely agree. The worst part of Malia reporting Hannah's valium was that she knew about it for several days. She knew that Hannah was using valium for her panic attacks from the first time Hannah had one, and she talked to Sandy about Hannah's anxiety the very next morning, but Malia still didn't say anything about the valium ... until a few days later when she had a personal beef with Hannah. Hannah was technically still in the wrong because she should've declared the medication in the ship's log ... but the way Malia reported her was incredibly suspicious.

What goes around comes around. Couldn't have happened to a 'nicer' back stabbing person. So quick to report Hannah's meds, but didn't report this injury. Says a lot about her.

I find it hilarious that it was a huge problem that Hannah didn't report her meds, but Malia chose not to report an on boat injury. Imagine if the dude had internal bleeding? That's how an acquaintance of my best friend died, fell, didn't pay attention to it, died from internal bleeding.

Fucking hell that’s probably the angriest I have seen her.She hasn’t even been that angry with Hannah and that says something!!!!! Of course, what ever injuries take place has to be reported at all times. This records will go to the owner also. First of all Captain is responsible for the vessel and the safety. Plus the souls on board. All this the captain has to report to the owner. Anything that takes place on the vessel or if anything brakes captain has to keep report. It’s protocol. Imagine if there is a death on board. Captain has to know everything at all cost and report to the owner

Malia made 2 mistakes. Not informing Sandy. Not owning up to her mistake of not informing Sandy.

Malia should have acknowledge her mistake and immediately apologise to captain sandy for failing to notify her. She is neither a Doctor nor a Medical practitioner to determine/classify the extend of the injury. No amount of explaination can justify her actions!

Wow this be one of the few moments that I love capt Sandy and totally agree with her! Btw what up with Malia raising her voice and talking back to the capt?

Do you watch these shows? The crew are bruised continuously and there is no fuss made or changes in their duties. This was just Sandy making an excuse to shout and swear at a subordinate and later fire her. Typical Sandy.

What I really don’t like is that when the captain had something to say in private Malia thought its ok to answer back and engage in an argument. Just listen and take it, understand and apologise. Respect is understanding that you might be wrong, listen and then go away and think about it, not trying to tell the captain how it is. All that does is inform the captain that you really don’t get it and you don’t want to get it. Bad attitude.

I agree w Sandy but I disagree with the yelling. Just because you’re right doesn’t give you a pass to yell or abuse your employees. That’s unprofessional and it shouldn’t be tolerated in the workplace. Sandy still needs to listen patiently and speak and continue to train or find another employee if necessary.

@Number One the problem is people tolerate yelling and abuse. That’s why no one is held accountable and the cycle continues and it never stops. People need to have a backbone and stand up for your rights. Yelling is unprofessional. Working for decades and had my fair share of industry experiences. There was never any yelling involved.

Malia didn't report it because he didn't fall during working hours, he fell in off hours .......when loaded and Malia knew this. It's interesting that these yachters are allowed to go out and tie one on before a new charter starts. They get up hungover the next day and are supposed to be on top of their game. They appear on the show to be functioning adequately but we all know it's to the contrary for at least 24 hours. The last charter of the season, Capt. Sandy allows Kate to make the decision as to whether they bring on a 3rd stew. Kate hates conflict and appears to be uncomfortable being a 1st line manager so she elects to go with only 2 stews....... so she doesn't have to deal with a new person?? This leaves the whole crew strapped ....not just the inside crew. This is a decision the captain should have made and not left to someone who wasn't capable of making the call. Staffing the boat is up to the captain.......isn't it? If one of the deck crew became injured which is always a possibility, they all would have been royally screwed. Who would Captain Sandy hang THAT on then?

On all these yachting shows, all crew members are allowed to party hearty hours before the next charter. There doesn't seem to be any restrictions except the last episode with Capt Glen, he cautioned everyone to go easy on the booze before their last charter. I can see producers encouraging crew members to drink to excess because it makes for good t.v. when crew members get into arguments, fights or fall in bed with each other. Who wants to watch people getting falling down drunk?
