*Mbiri lionesses are the most intelligent survivors and will do what they need to in order to see their young prosper and for the pride to grow. They know what they’re doing.*

Good that "Tristan" explained clearly a few things here. Yup, the Mbiri pride with the "Tintswalo" males is clearly in the category of "inbreeding" by now. One of the adult lionesses, presumably still alive, is the mother of Orpen Junior and his sister. The mother herself is probably a daughter of the 3 Northern Matimba males. Orpen Junior and his sister were probably sired by "Junior" Nkuhuma, presumed to be the son of Nduna (Matimba). Fortunately, Nduna seems to have come from a different pride than the other 5 Matimbas, though he still could've been sired by the same males. Buddy, partner of Junior, was most likely not related. He might've been the father of the Orpen-Skorro male in Londolozi. Nobody remembers this stuff, right? Junior Mbiri might get driven out of the pride pretty soon by the remaining 2 Tintswalos, and they really should do it. Let's just hope they don't seriously injure him, and he finds lionesses to mate with elsewhere. Too bad he has no "partner" right now, but the longer he lives, he might get that chance. That's what could've happened with the Ottawa male, and it can clearly be seen now in Sabi Sands. But, nobody remembers the Ottawa male. His "death" really is suspicious.

Othawa male also known Nguvu? If so, there was nothing suspicious about his death from what I can remember. He repeatedly ventured into Birmingham territory to meet with one female and one night did not come back. Nhenha, Tinyo (and likely the pride) killed him and rightfully so. He was my favorite lion at the time, but that's how it goes when you're mating with someone else's female in rival territory.

I think nacile getting snared effected their venturing out. Since he recovered, they start spending more time away once they take over another pride, they will leave this pride.

It probably had nothing to do with the tintswalo boys. There are bigger coalitions north and east of the mbiri territory that could be pushing in.

Not sure about "losing grip on their pride," they might just be trying to "expand" their territory, find more lionesses to mate with. This is actually a good thing because of the relation between the "Tintswalo" males and "their pride." Otherwise, all these lionesses should be willing to mate, except maybe the mother of the cub-subs sired by the Tintswalos.

It seems that every male (except for Buddy Orpen) that has mated with the Mbiri lionesses over these past few years is related to them in some way or other.

So very glad to see them; it's very un4tunate that the youngster is behaving like a youngster -taking advantage of the absence of parents/dad. Ncila n M really need stability ( his injury really set them back) hoping for more order n safety for them( sad that Lambile is supposedly no more). Very beautiful grasslands, shrubs-definitely signs of life along with other animals. thanks🦁💥

@@tylermartin9017 Being protectors of the pride and being dominant males are one and the same thing. They are not mutually exclusive. Besides, it is known that they are from this pride but they have been behaving as pride males regardless (Roaring, scent marking, patrolling). Even the rangers have considered them the dominant pride males for all intents and purposes. It's only now that they've been making themselves scarce and venturing into the Kruger National Park

There was no information from any of the camps about confrontation between the two. No wounds or damage from fighting or otherwise.
