A unique album for sure, it was largely ignored here in the US . Not many people i know who are even aware of this record .I was lucky enough to get this when it was a new release, I was very into early hip hop/ breakdance music and grabbed this LP because of the really cool artwork. The music was great and i would dance to Buffalo Gals long after its coolness wore off ,and later in life I really came to appreciate the African music so much!

Actually they didn't redesign the artwork, they couldn't, because the original artwork doesn't exist anymore, the reason I know this is because I designed the cover and all of Malcolms and Worlds End artwork in the beginning of the 80's. To re design the art you would need all the separate elements and that was lost years ago. All they did was beef up the colours and put a white border around it. I did however have the Duck Rocker re made by the same person who built it for me in the first place. It was just exhibited in Beijing at the Style Into Revolt Show and a second version was on display at the McLaren retrospective at the Saatchi Gallery in London. I did offer to re do the cover and change the colours on the Haring art but there wasn't enough time. I also recommend that you buy the Heated Words book which is printed on the pink insert with Duck For The Oyster

Awesome to hear this has been released. Is this State Conspiracy label going to release a CD for the "rest of us". They haven't made it available on streaming either. Hmmmmmm. Does this have to be so exclusive, especially for a 40th Anniversary?

stellar stuff... Malcolm - of all people - brought HipHop to the white crowd. I remember on the Buffalo Gals Back To Skool CD there's the interview of when he met Bambaataa in 1980. for me, this originally was like a triptych also featuring his '83 Mini LPs "D'ya Like Scratchin" and "Would Ya Like More Scratchin" with the Keith Haring sleeves. this was a huge project on multiple formats ! to celebrate the 40th, I've uploaded the complete VHS from back in the day, which is equally rare by now as your CD versions. thx !

Was definitely not the first record to include scratching or sampling, "The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash on the Wheels of Steel" which incorporates both predates it, but it was an album that was still way ahead of it’s time.
