I had been following all your KZread messages. This is the first time I joined via zoom. Just enjoyed listening God’s word. Your message was both enlightening and deeply moving, providing a fresh perspective on a profound yet often overlooked portion of scripture. The Book of Malachi, though brief, contains rich insights into the nature of God's relationship with His people. Your sermon highlighted the unwavering and unconditional love that God extends to us, despite our frequent shortcomings and failures. This theme of steadfast love is a powerful reminder of God's commitment to His covenant with Israel, and by extension, His covenant with all believers. Thanks and may God bless your ministry. 😊🙏

Beautiful bk. Wonderful explanation ! Thank u. “Malachi” means “My Messenger”or “Angel”. It’s a series of arguments between the people of Israel & God. It is worthwhile to ask these very same questions to ourselves as well. When God says something, Israel disagrees n questions God’s statement. God exposes n confronts Israel’s corruption. The topics are hypocrisy, infidelity, divorce, wealth, and the question “if God is good n loves us why do we face so many problems, illnesses n difficulties in life. We get the answers in the bk of Malachi. The events occur 100 years after the Babylonian exile n this hasn’t changed them at all n their hearts are hard as ever. The OT ends with the bk of Malachi. All the prophets of the OT, one after another foretold the coming of the Messiah & Malachi predicted that it was time for the Messiah to arrive so to keep watch. He was the last prophet of the OT to the exiles who returned to Israel. After that there was complete silence n God’s word was not heard or spoken for 400 years. The last bk of the NT, Revelation, ends with the prediction of the second coming of Christ. Malachi was the prophet who came after Nehemiah around 397 BC. After 400 yrs of silence for the first time we hear the voice of a prophet John the Baptist in the NT who foretold the first coming of the messiah. In 539 BC the exiles returned frm Babylon to restore their land n the temple. They fasted, offered sacrifices n celebrated festivals. When Nehemiah was the prophet we see a revival but after that there was a downturn. The people did not worship other gods or offer sacrifices to them. They followed all instructions but their hearts were far from God. They had lost their zeal for the Lord & a revival was necessary. God is giving them another opportunity to examine our lives n return to Him. The 3 themes of Malachi are 1. God loves them with an everlasting love 2. If they stray away n forsake God punishment is sure 3. If they have been faithful, their names will be included in the bk of life. The last words of God in Malachi is “ I have always loved u”. We must get this firmly inscribed in our heart. Everyone one of us who are believers must have this assurance without even a shadow of doubt. That’s why we need not fear about rejection or of the opinions or validations of other people. People who feel lonely n lost need to hear this statement made by our Almighty God n be assured of God’s love. We doubt His love for various reasons, it may be bcoz of our sins n satan takes us through a cycle of guilt. God says “I will forgive your wickedness, and I will never remember them anymore”. When we repent n turn to Jesus, He will never leave us nor forsake us. We don’t trust our feelings but on the promises of our God who remains faithful till the end. But God’s statement “Jacob I loved, Esau I hated” causes people to doubt God’s love. We question how can God show favoritism. The love of God is shown through His unconditional choice of His people. We base our love on our feelings. God says I did not choose Esau, I chose Jacob.” Spurgeon’s reply to a woman who asked the same question was “That’s not difficult but my trouble is to understand how God could love Jacob.”We too may have the same question in our mind, perplexed by God’s statement. We need to ask ourselves “How come God chose us from amongst so many of His people”? Is it bcoz we are at least 1% better than the others? Never ! We are all worse than the others. It’s only due to God’s abundant mercy, love & grace n nothing else ! He chose us before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. Due to His great love He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will. (Eph 1:4, 5). Like the rest, we were by nature deserving God’s wrath but because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions, it is by grace we have been saved. The cross is the symbol of God’s unconditional love for us. It’s easier to love Esau than Jacob. Jacob was deceitful in character. God loves sinners n is merciful to them but He hates sin. That’s why we all have hope. God’s purpose in election stands not by works but by Him who calls. That’s why before the twins were born Rebecca was told “the older will serve the younger”Esau’s descendants were the Edomites & Jacob’s were the Israelites. Gods chose Jacob to be the father of His chosen people the Israelites. We are saved not by works but by Him who calls. God’s sovereignty n election cannot be thwarted. It doesn’t depend on human effort or desire but on God’s mercy. We are under the favor of God but they are under the judgment of God. God's wrath and judgment came upon Edom for mistreating Israel. There were specific reasons for God punishing Edom to the extent that no survivors were left. It was their pride, their violence against Israel, their attitude toward Jerusalem’s destruction n their plundering looting n mistreatment of the survivors. They were not only opposing God’s chosen people but also their own brothers. We need to face each day of our life, knowing fully well how wide, long, high and deep is the love of God and how this love surpasses all human knowledge n understanding that we may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. What great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God ! God says people have not given Him honor n respect. “You have forsaken your first love. Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. ”First the priestly class who continue their ministry while in sin. We are all guilty of this. We don’t set a good example to children for we do not practice what we preach. While living in sin we preach about holiness. We say “take the speck out of ur eye,”when all the time there’s a plank in our own eye. Next we offer defiled food to God. A time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears they will gather around teachers who twist God’s word to suit their own desires. Preachers weren’t focusing on their ministry by preaching sound doctrine n revealing the truth, instead they were preaching without preparation, passion or clarity. A preacher needs to be fully prepared to present a grand feast of the word of God to the people. They didn’t joyfully do the work of the Lord. They did not do their ministry with passion or zeal, instead they showed contempt n disinterest, treating it as a burden. If we are tired of ministry, it’s proof that we have lost our first love. Are we proud of our ministry or are we ashamed of it.? The famous Evangelist Billy Graham was pressurized to aim for becoming the president of America but his wife Ruth Graham opposed saying “If God has called u to be a missionary do not stoop down to become a king. There’s no greater and blessed profession than ministering to the Lord. How many of us truly desire our children to be dedicated to the ministry of God. That will prove our love for our Lord. Do we consider the Lord’s work, serving the king of kings a privilege, priority & a great blessing? The highest rank in the kingdom of God is that of being His servant! There’s no greater blessing than this ! God says people have not offered their best to God but instead the left overs n the defiled. God says “I have no need of a bull from your stall or of goats from your pens, for every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.” We are only deceiving ourselves by not understanding the true worth of our Almighty God. God isn’t looking for perfect people to build His Kingdom but for real people with real faith and genuine frailties, whose hearts are for Him. God says “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” David was more concerned about the things of God than his own well being. When God gave, He gave us His best, for God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. God hates hypocrisy. Our true sacrifice to God must be a broken spirit. A broken and humble heart God will not despise. Our God is the king of kings & the Lord of Lords. God says regarding the unfaithful priesthood, that He will not hear their prayers, He will turn their blessings to curses n discipline them. God has a covenant with Levi which He will continue. He is the right example of priesthood . He had the fear of the Lord n His name. He taught the truth, walked in peace n boldly proclaimed the word of God. God says “I will be glorified among the gentiles. From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised. Serve the Lord with gladness. The Lord is exalted over all the nations, His glory is higher than the heavens n His glory covers all the earth.

Hi Cherry. I have never studied this book and your study instilled a hunger and desire to study this book. I follow teachings from another teacher as well and started study of this book. And I am amazed at how both of you taught the exact same content, verses - showing how the Spirit led you to teach this. I never knew Malachi was such a profound book and has so much to learn from. Thank you for taking this book. Many times it is only the book of Jonah that gets covered in the minor prophets book study. You have really opened my eyes through this teaching of God's heart towards His people which is so apt for this generation. Thank you, and waiting for next session.
