This happens with every Persona match up. Nobody is on the same page as to where the characters are in relation to one another.

​@nickbarlas5544 we all agree that makoto is the most gifted, powerful, and talented persona user. he has abilities like fusion skills, allowing him to use two personas at once to attack someone. part of the inherent talent was having the death arcana's ultimate shadow within him.

Yu can't beat Makoto. I think it's canon too, cause Igor said that Makoto is the best guest that the velvet room has ever had. He hasn't said that to literally any other protagonist

Yep, the multiple persona summon , Armageddon, it's too strong, and he dies.... The strongest is dying is so sad 😢

I think Yu has more experience as if we include P4A hes been with his persona way more than Makoto has as has more experience fighting

​@guicardoso1280 Cute. Makoto was always stronger. He had death sealed within him which granted a boost to his powers stronger than Yu ever would have had. He was already talented before. He can also use fusion spells, which no other protagonist can. He also is able to defeat elizabeth one-on-one, suggesting he's on par with velvet room attendants, known to rule over power. He has access to abilities like "Armageddon" which can instantly defeat almost any lesser opponent. Yu isn't anywhere near this level of power, ability, potential, and talent. Igor regards him as the best guest he has ever had, bar none.

Yu in his prime can't beat Makoto with the universe arcana, but he would put up a good fight against Makoto before fighting Nyx and after fighting Takaya

Gameplay wise, makoto is definitely the strongest. He can equip all type of weapons. He can use fusion spell alone without any help. Atlus had to nerf him in P3P because he is too strong.

You have to remember that both Yu and Joker have access to a larger compendium and more abilities in there moveset due to the difference in game mechanics from P3-5. Ultimately they all have access to the omnipotent orb meaning only Almighty attacks will actually work. Makoto being able to use Fusion spells is never explained and almost all of them besides Armageddon and Infinity is basically useless. Armageddon isn't going to actually be able to kill them due to Joker and Yu having access to moves like Enduring Soul which can resurrect and being able to use Myriad Truths which can oneshot Makoto back.

No he isn't. You have to remember that he still got oneshotted by true nyx and only really blocked erebus access to her. That's not really a win.

@@nene5990 he's really not especially when we start comparing the World and Universe arcana to each other and realizing just how similar they are to one another making him equal to Joker and Yu. The World/Universe arcana trio are the second strongest in the verse with True Nyx as the strongest

Mid diff hell. Narukami got no points at all. Makoto yuki would literally just use apocalypse on narukami and it'd be like being hit by a morning star from Margaret

Okay 15-0 is just fucking BS, like i would say Chad Makoto is probably winning this but Narukami at least gets some points, also Yu doesn’t have to fucking die to use myriad truths 😂

Myriad truths is arguably only seen as strong as it is because of how bad P5's balance is. Armageddon from every other standpoint FAR outmatches it, and Makoto can use it by himself

I'd say experience goes to Yu, because Makoto Yuki hasn't done what Yu has in P4U2 which is fight within a combination of Tartarus, The T.V. World, and the Real World

with experience there is both quality and quantity. Quantity wise they are somewhat equal, where makoto has fought far more powerful characters such as nxy, Elizabeth, arguably the arcana bosses ect.

I think the protag power list goes Tatsuya ≈ Makoto = Kotone > Ren > Yu > Aigis (Large Gap) > Maya ≈ Naoya

Without universe arcana it would be a even fight but makoto is the only one to have universe arcana and that alone is way more impressive than the world arcana so yeah makoto wins

I dont know, all people say makoto is the strongest because universe arcana but i think they are in the correct but its only my opinion, i need finish persona 4 to take the decicion.
