I hope Shinkai is next for an Oscar after Miyazaki's second one this year. He clearly deserved it in Your Name. He's now working on his next film after Suzume.

The reason why I started my journey to painting background was all because of him, How breathtaking his illustrations of clouds was just so utterly gorgeous

Love that you grabbed this very visual aspect to explore! I feel Shinkai's movies are often discussed in terms of script, but much less so in their other (amazing) elements. Who knows? Perhaps Shinkai's skies will be as iconic as Miyazaki's food or planes one day =) Thanks for the vid
