Makita 18x2 Plunge Track Saw & Bluetooth Dust Extractor - DSP601 + DVC864L
oztooltalk test out Makita's 18x2 (36V) track saw (DSP601) and the well-matched Bluetooth dust extractor (DVC864L).
We test it extensively, having not previously been well acquainted with track saws.
Definitely a great tool, but will it convince you to fork out AU$1099 for the kit? Watch to find out what OTT think.

Hi Guys,
Great video guys, as always your review was to the point, covered everything i wanted to know and really informative. Thanks so much for putting in the time and effort to make these reviews for us average guys.
I got 2x5Ah batteries and 2x1.5Ah batteries from Makita right now (+1 older Bosch) with 2 more 5Ah delivered mid January with a cordless grinder.
Great job on the video and good practical discussion. Appreciate the discussion about the vacuum and who it is for, helped me decide that it’s not for me, even though I really want one.
I am a cabinet maker. So i cut kicker and bulkhead on site also use circ saw for sink template. So i was looking for cordless vac. I think i am definitely going for this.
Hey Makita, here's another of my ideas you can steal. 😘 Make an independent AWS module we can plug into any dust extractor's appliance socket. So people that already have stupidly expensive Festool dust extractors don't have to buy a second one. Would be super cool of you if you could. Cheers!
HOLY crap.. that does plexiglass? - man thanks so much!
15 x 5ah
Merry Christmas
Nice vid as usual guys, I recently bought the saw and extractor, very pleased with both. Regarding batteries, my son and I work as a team, we’re general builders, have a lot of cordless Makita including a few 36v (18v x 2) tools. Atm, our battery count is 35 👍🏻
8 batteries. Great review thanks guys. Got the saw and was looking for the right vac to get.
Guys, you have just invented a new thing, which I'd like to call the "Oz Tool Talk Paradox"; It starts when you see a tool on this channel and then the paradox happens when you realize that even if you DONT need this tool, well ... you NEED it anyway :-)
I have Makita 6x 5Ah, 2x 6Ah. Xgt 3x 4Ah. Flexvolt 2x 6Ah, 1x 9Ah.
Is that isulbreak insulation on the ceiling, what do you think of it.
I got four 18v batteries, and one 12v makita battery set. and two of the dual rechargers (18v) and one single (12v) battery.
Gday guys, love the channel. Looking for a table saw for home woodworking...I'm a Chippy and everyone I know raves about the Dewalt, what's your opions on the DEWALT vs Makita (not the crap one from Bunnings with the fence that only locks on the front edge) thanks.
great review. still love the festool but if price is low enough great alternative i spose....boss has 20 batts, 8x3A 6x5A 6x6A makita
Bosch 18v: 7 batteries

Mebbs the saw is running off both batteries but the bluetooth is only running off the one.
