    I feel like I'm very late to the game, because I was thinking the EXACT thing. Make a few of these, drop them in at the bottom of some clear resin, and make a sphere or paper weight. Just saying...

    I think they are beautiful and if a man gave me something like this I would love it! Also you can soak them in essential oils and then they can be scented flowers!

    Magical. I have never been disappointed in receiving flowers. Live and cut, live and in a pot, flowers drawn on paper, random yard weeds, even once a pile of lego flowers my son picked out of his set and poured into my lap. 🥰

    Holy smokes, Nick!!! That thing is supa funky! The vase is absolutely beautiful yet the flowers have such a spontaneous whimsical feel to them. Combined they make this a beautiful yet fun piece! Absolutely love it!

    Looks great. You should do the vase as resin with the bottom a blue color to look like water with the top of it clear reckon it would look really reaslitic

    I bought some of these from this year's makers central for my mother's birthday, she adores them! The guy that makes them is such a nice guy, his wife is very friendly to. Great couple.     I just found this video and sat there with my mouth hanging open. These are great! I could imagine this flowers as unique buttons on a knitted jacket... maybe I just to get a lathe, too. Thanks for showing!

    Pretty! I'd love to see those in a resin piece, oooh another idea: making knitting needles, out of resin with a very thin stick inside, and a couple of different pieces of yarn wrapped around each! So it would be stick, wrapped in yarn, coated in a bunch of resin so you don't end up getting to the yarn. P.s so glad I caught this before falling asleep! I also want to see these put into a resin pot! They would look so good in resin, as part of a lid! Edit: if you (he) said that, that was one of your future ideas, I apologize for being repetitive. I had to watch this without sound. I couldn't wait until tomorrow to watch!

    Lol, knitting needles out of resin have been made before, so I bet it's possible. I just have visions of the yarn coated in resin unwinding in a tangle halfway across the workshop!

    @@mszoomy I've never seen anyone do it. I'd love to see how different minds of yarn react to the resin. OMG, it would be AWESOME if there were a way to forgo the stick entirely. Then you'd literally be knitting yarn with yarn XD!

    You should embed your flowers in a resin vase like when you did the LEGO vase! My grandmother had a nick back like your piece, but the flowers were glass. This is just the sweetest thing.

    I lived in Terrell, Texas where I stopped at a Dollar Tree Store and found wooden Roses they had a variety of colors to choose from and I bought some for myself,Mom and Aunt who was my Mom's Twin Sister. Unfortunately I found out that they were not all one piece when my 1yo nephew broke mine. The flowers you made I like better because they will stand up to an uuuppppssss moment from a youngster. LOL

    Love the idea of how to do these flowers. Here's an idea, maybe make the center of each flower a different color, like yellow, and the rest whatever color you like. Then each flower has petals and a pollen area.

    Here after todays african blackwood vase. So pretty. I have wooden tulips that I got in Keukenhof gardens about a decade ago they're wonderful.

    Soren Berger is the patron to Christchurch wood turners in NZ, He did a demo for us making way bigger flowers with longer sticks but they were green which made it easier to form the flower, he then dipped them in coloured ink to finish. Nice job NZ from KH in NZ.!

    Love this. I think in a bowl/plated, like the metal cogs one, with these sitting in clear resin would be lovely. Like the colours but natural colour stains would enhance. Excellent for a first attempt Nick.
