I learn to forge with my left arm because my right arm is injured , so I started with this small blade .I still tried to make it fun and satisfying to watch.

No offence taken. You are right. I see that most of the carving knives are pretty short. For my usual knives 8 centimeters is pretty short , but for carving knife it's on the bigger side. And now when I use it and test it I see exactly why. Thank you for the critique (presented in very polite way :) This knife a test piece and I will play around with it's shape and size :)

@@RustLegion :) I carve wood since many years, the best knife i ever tried is the mora 120. I now only use this one. Very short, very thick scandy. This is my refference. The triangular shape is very useful tho, so you have a very precise tip, and a very large bottom to adapt. I'm no one to tell you what to do, but in my experience, this is the knife you want. edit : ( there is two mora 120. Of course i talk about the little one )

@@theopalacin5307 Smaller one is mora 120 the bigger one is mora 106. Yes I also noticed that carving knives have almost triangle blade profile and mine is a bit narrow in the base. I will check the dimensions of mora 120 and I'll apply them on my next carver

You should make a crooked knife, much better at carving wood
Bro likes to gamble with fingers
Where do you get the woof for your kiln? Or do you make it yourself, and if so whats the process?

I just remembered the demon slayer😂
Well well, nicely done. How donyou get that whole log piece to be charcoal like that as whole piece? Stick it in some sort of anoxic kiln?

I buy my charcoal from guys that make it and usually they are small pieces but in one bag there were 3-4 big logs like this one. I guess it is made in anoxic kiln/retort like most charcoal but they just didn't chop it to small pieces.
Good job
Mao Zedong would be proud.

I quench it in oil. If you quench in water there is a high chance of warping or cracking.

Gentleman, this knife, it will kill.
Well, I’m headed to my forge at 3AM est. How do you do your char? That thing was a beast, an I’m trying to get back to basics one may say. I normally operate of gas, if the situation calls for it, coal. I started with the Japanese charcoal method, and have been working my way back, still, how did you do that? ❤
When fitting a handle on a knife or ax tape the blade, I do welll now anyway

waiting for this guy on forged in fire
No one’s gonna say how he used fire magic to start the furnice
These videos honestly make me think that smithing isnt as expensive as everyone else makes it seem, like you dont need a super furnace or anything and making a handle not neccesary until you double down on the hobby. How neccesary is an anvil?
I love you make
I opened this video and accidentally said "Hello lust region"-
Perfect 👌
Awesome
Why does everybody think you put an edge on a blade by running it back and forth on the stone like that??? This is NOT how you sharpen a blade! what a PickleDear!!
What is better for wetstone, oil or water?
woah, that's clean! 'o')
Looks like he made the handle out of a wood cutting knife. "Step one of making a wood cutting knife..... Have a good cutting knife"
