Are you sure the knocking wasn’t just one of the valve lifters/rockers? I know Chris Sullivan had this issue with his new motor and quickly fixed it.

Yeah first thing I’d do is pull valve covers before I pull an engine lol

The frequency of the sound suggest bottom end. Valve train would be twice the speed..

You know I've been there with mine but it's worth the effort in the end. You've had your fun with junkyard aviator engines, now it's time to build a real man's motor for it!

I agree. Sounded like a bad lash adjuster. Always hard to tell being remote versus in person but i agree. Chris Sullivan just had that issue with his car sounded the same nearly.

Sounds exactly like my 01, I beat the shit out of that car just very annoying to listen to though Im confident its just the lash adjuster, I get tearing it out though aviator motors are always clutch hopefully the issue isnt too serious

Oil pressure was fine. Engine was running good, just had that noise.

There are some companies out there that rebuild them. I plan to have mine swapped out soon along with paint. Just need the car to mechanicly be sound first.

I've come to the conclusion that if a Terminator block was pulled it was pulled for a reason lol Quit putting junkyard Motors in it, i know you had problems with the Terminator short block. Try and and get up with Nick in NC hes always parting them out.

I got the Eaton swap from nick. I’d trust one of his engines for sure, sadly it’s just out of my budget to go to him. A known good running cobra motor is near 6-7k these days and I just can’t swing that right now

​@LeviEZ a vehicle could be wrecked and have a perfectly fine motor. Just because it's pulled don't mean something is wrong with the motor.

What a buzzkill. I thought you were going to be all set with the Terminator engine. That really sucks. You think you might tear the engine down to find/fix the issue or start over again with another engine?
