The screw you guys are adjusting in these videos is intended to take up slack in the 2 stage trigger. It's not designed as an adjustment for trigger pull. The screw that would be used for that is machined off in the 334 so that it can't be turned. Moving the stage 1 adjustment is essentially pretensioning the trigger - starting to pull it before your ever even put your finger on it. Yes, it works to reduce poundage. It can also cause the firearm to discharge accidentally or be unsafe if dropped. That's not a guarantee either, but anyone attempting this needs to be aware of the risk and also aware that this is not a trigger weight adjustment screw. Finally, the screw is very soft metal. Be sure to not only use a hollow ground screwdriver, but one that fits the slot really well. There are no replacement parts available from Savage or ATA if you bugger it up. Also, the engagement surfaces in the trigger are coated with black oxide or QPQ or whatever the finish is... That stuff will wear down over time and smooth out. I have no doubt that these triggers will get a lot better with use.

If I'm not mistaken I think that at least on mine the weight adjustment screw was not cut off it was just an Allen which had been filled with some sort of epoxy. Also to take up the creep if you take apart the trigger assembly there is a third adjustment screw on the trigger that I was able to remove the creep by adjusting. Mayby not worth work but now is crisp

Just curious to know if you did a bump test after adjusting the trigger? And maybe go another 1/4 turn on the adjustment screw instead of 1/2 a turn and test the safety.

Here's the link to the "drop test" video: kzread.infoysXiqPVuPXY?si=0x4sHDKJQGgOSyPV I did mentioned it in the full length Rumble only video, but perhaps didn't clarify as well as I could have that we adjusted the trigger screw to various positions and settled on a final adjustment that was approximately a quarter turn away from the point where the trigger could be forced to fire with the safety engaged. If you haven't seen that video I encourage you to watch it as it covers what we learned in depth. Here's the link: rumble.com/v49ysq6-making-the-stevens-334-better-with-a-free-diy-trigger-job.html
