6:36 into the video. You CAN NOT convince me he didn't say F%$kin instead of Buckin. Lol

That's what I heard.
One day, Martin is going to be somewhere, and get recognized by a fan. Asked for a pic and an autograph, and be completely bewildered by the whole experience.

When you said "one off" referring to this axe, my heart sank... I hope you consider doing production runs of this model, one day! :)

Gonna say 6.67lbs there. Also, the human element of your life is important to me as a viewer, very relatable and endearing. Keep 'em coming!

Haha dude I was thinking 6.65 before looking at your comment.
I gotta get me one of those Martin power hammers. They seem really quiet!🤣 6lbs5oz is my guess
I got you bro, kids can really drain you. I would suggest upping the ammount in the bottle for last feed, a little more of the good stuff can help them sleep a little longer
Your positive attitude is infectious! thanks for the video
Timothy great to see these daily videos. Can't wait to see what videos .always great to see and learning from your videos and other great blacksmiths. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend timmothy. Forge on. Keep making. God bless.
I've really enjoyed watching this process. Some other channels would drop one of these a week for like 15 weeks which I find a bit annoying and drawn out, but the daily uploads of progress and the process have captured my interest and I'm really looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Oh good to hear, I feel really insecure about progression each day with daily uploads. I have to spend a lot of time editing and so it slows me down on getting the project done! Thank you for your comment!
Double hammering!! Now THAT is blacksmithing, w00t!! 👍👏💪🙏😁😁😁
Martin is the real star here!
Tim and Martin are like Jay and Silent Bob LOL. Tim does all the talking, and Martin only ever says like one word
I’m going 6lbs on the big bullet! Looking good brother.

Timothy, I hear ya! Thanks for sharing about the challenges of having two young ones. It gets better. I have a 9 and 7 but I don’t know how I got from 2.5&6months until now. You got this! Your wife likely deserves flowers or better ;-)
Don't let the world drag ya down man. We are grateful for ya. Keep up the grind

I look forward to your videos every evening. Thanks for making great content and for being such a nice person.

No scale? Get a water bucket and measure the displacement the use the density of the forging to calculate the weight.
Great videos Tim! And hey even the Buckin reject is an awesome axe!
Awesome would love to have one.
Marten is hilarious.
Love ur vids man especially the titanium forging
It was nice to hear about your little family. As a father I sure relate! The good thing about your part of the world is that there’s a remedy for those rough mornings: Double double at Tim Horton’s! 😃

OH YA!
Tim. Nice work!!
What a giant slobberknocker of an axe that is!!!
🤪 "Buckin Wood Bullet" Keep at it!!
Buckin' needs to set you up with a set of profile templates out of thin plywood or sheet metal as thickness & length / width profiles to follow as guide lines , while you are forging for him !!! Where to locate the eye etc. . memory of what you saw during one visit might not be enough to guide your hands !!!
It’s gotta be right around that 5.9 lbs mark right? I love this series it’s so fun watching a more stripped down axe build process to compare it to all the more dialed in productions that have tooling prepared
Are we sure he said "buckin'" at 6:38?!?!🤣🤣
Totally understand the mind willing/body weak, my kids are 3 and 15 months. Good luck!
Good intro, thanks for another video hay.

6lbs 3oz. Great job on those axes, they are turning out awesome.
My guess it weighs about 7lbs 1oz. Hope you can get some good sleep tonight Tim. Keep up the hard work, for the Wood Bullet is looking great. Would love to buy one in that style of axe if you ever made a production run of them with a longer handle configuration... 28inch or more. I wonder if you could make a bullet out of inconel steel, would it keep its edge better?
At 6:36 he says buckin. If anyone needed clarification.
Anvils looking a little rough there bud. How often do you have to smooth it out to keep the finish flat and smooth on things you forge?
Glad y'all just had a false alarm. Never pictured Tim as an apartment guy. Axe development is going well I see!

I'm not really an apartment guy, but its the best we can do right now!
I say it weighs 7pounds 5 oz that Wood bullet axe is beautiful the way it is I love it And love your work You make it look so easy👍✌
5lbs and 4 oz is my best guess. Very good video. That Martin is a man of few words but he must be a good fellow.
5 pounds 14 ounces. Buckin will love it! 👍
I think this one is closer to 6 lbs. I'll go with 5 lbs 15 oz. Love watching you work Tim! Hoping you get good rest tonight...
Great job Tim. 6 3/8 lb..
Glad you and your family are ok. Be careful. Being exhausted like that is when accidents can happen. Hope you get more sleep.
In the absence of a scale, measure the volume by displacement and multiply by the density.
6 lb 4 🍻😎👍hopefully good rest tonight.
My seven year old said after the last video “he’s going to mess this one up but nail it on the next one!” Or something to that effect.
I'm gonna put my guess in at 5lb 12oz. Looks great!
Merci bien !
Is dialing the weight in much more difficult than shaping? It seems like weight is the one thing you can't tell just by looking at it.
I agree that its nice to hear about your wife and kids. :)
It's got to 5.52 pounds. It looks great. Love to see that kind of stuff come to life out of a chunk of metal.
I'm planning on building a log cabin the original way. I will need a lot of very different axes hatchets and other hand tools used in the 17th and 18th century. I am hoping to find a lot of used original tools axes and other needed supplies. If I need any of these weirdly shaped axes how much would you charge for one off or multiple one off tools

6.66lb. I love the 4.5 lb axe, you should make a production run of them, or sell me that one haha!
I think there are alot of people that would buy your titanium hammers if you would make them! I wanted to try one since you made the one you use!!!
Do you think you could make a 1 1/4 combo wrench, if so I'll buy it. I'm a mechanic and snap on is great but I want a cool looking wrench to use. I'll pay
6lbs 2.2 onces of split yo wig greatness created by Timothy the great.

Soon, hoping this week!
I think Canadians pronounce it "hangle," but that might just be when referring to dangles.
If you ever want to sell that first prototype I will buy it 😂
im glad you and your family are okay!! and my guess is 6.84lbs
I saw the video when you turned a bolt into a long wire and that was amazing! Can you do the same with a copper or aluminum rods to get a long wire??
@lostman9814
2 жыл бұрын
it is the same principal just easier at least with copper, aluminum may need to be extruded. Silver and Gold can also be drawn down similar to Copper.
@Nevir202

@@lostman9814 Pretty sure copper has to be repeatedly annealed because of the work hardening.
@dylanvaughn3564
2 жыл бұрын
@@Nevir202 I've worked with copper a little and my experience was as long as it stays hot it won't harden. Where people run into trouble is trying to work it when it gets cold. Because it's a soft metal it is tempting to keep hitting it and it will be fine for the first few hits but after that it hardens. Hit it with the torch and it should be good to go again
@lostman9814
2 жыл бұрын
@@Nevir202 Too true periodic annealing is needed for copper, silver, and gold. Typically on small jewelry scale copper and silver I would make two gauge reduction passes then anneal, just doing small batches thru a commercially available wire drawing plate. Kinda fun.
I'm ready to buy me a wood bullet!
hope you can get your own house soon my brother lives one the island he has a small family and he is on the mission to get his own house
❤️ Love from India 🇮🇳
I'm guessing 5 lbs 9 oz. Looking beautiful!
When it comes to the weight of an axe head maybe a little over would be better than a little under.
How much for the small bullet?
My guess is that the bigger "Bullet" will weigh 1 pound 5 oz. more than the previous smaller head.
6lb 2oz. Just leaves some meat for sharpening... For sure it is an heirloom!
Welcome to adulthood it gets better then they are cheep labour 🤣🤙🇦🇺

Guessing 5,87 lbs! It's gonna look great!
How are you liking that hammer you made now that you've been using it for awhile and how's it holding up?
@TimothyDyck

Really like it! Its very interesting the face of the hammer is slightly pitted from it looks like scale impacting it, but beside thats its fine. I haven't swung a steel hammer since making it!
