yeah me too When the sky turns dark you can see many tiny dots in it. This means that it’s ‘nighttime’. When this happens, look in the sky for a bright object with splotches on it that occasionally changes shapes. This is ‘The Moon’.

Actually (not the nasa but...) In the fifties the US military did several nuclear tests (exploded bombs) under ground, and ther was a case when someone noticed that the menhole cover wich they coverd the bomb with, gone missing after the explosion, so the next occasion they set up a slowmo camera at about 10.000 fps... the cover vas only captured on the firs frame, it must have moved at least 20 times the escape velocity of the earth... (most likely it burned up in the atmosphere, but we'll never know)

It's actually beyond that. The signed 16-bit integer limit is 32,767. In the video. he reaches about 33,500~ blocks, meaning that's probably a limit put in on purpose by the programmers. also, positions in Minecraft are Floats, not Integers. If they were integers you'd move full blocks at a time.

@@JamesNewham Something else I thought of, Floats lose precision the larger the number you're dealing with. That's why movement got really stuttery when you went super far out in old versions of MC. It's possible (not sure tho) that he hit a threshold for float precision loss around there, because 33,500 is an oddly specific number

Theoritically, you can, but an ender pearl cannon can do the job far more precise, accurate and efficient (due to the pearl's small hitbox, make it easier to aim where you would land, and the fact that it takes less tnt to launch a pearl than a player).

@@user-iq7mk3gb9w the problem with that is the ender pearl would exit the loaded chunk range pretty quick so you’d have to keep the chunks loaded somehow for that to work. If you launch the player then the chunks get loaded around then automatically.

At initial launch, you go around 9,000 m/s. That is roughly mach 26. That thing could have sent you into orbit and then some. That is actually terrifying.

in this video, Mumbo Jumbo uses an extremely dangerous explosive device to propel himself 33 km high at an approximate speed of 1.6 kilometers per second (about 5760 kph(3579.098 mph)) and yet his biggest concern is that he can't go higher because Minecraft won't let him. I am glad that he didn't pursue physics

I, for one, love that amount of overkill. But it's a bit expensive for PVP

I would love to see this made anew. Maybe the increase of build height had an effect on the weird border ee hit. Many people want to see if it helps if you activate the lower dispensers multiple times. And we can even use mods for movable dispensers and such. That would be so much fun

What you could try: try use a redstone clock to keep putting tnt from lower dispensers into the water so you could have more tnt in the water before it explodes. I dont know if that would work, but you could try.

Then the blast is offset by that tiny time amount and while the first batch goes off the player is most likely already out of the blast radius when the second batch of TNT explodes.

I think I know what’s happening at the top. Literally, we break through the sky barrier. At around the 32k milestone, the ceiling is pushing us down, because that’s how most collision engines work. The problem is, whatever constant was coded in as the amount of force to push the player down with is LESS than the momentum that this cannon is generating. The ceiling is not pushing us hard enough to prevent us from CLIPPING THROUGH the invisible ceiling. It’s making every damn effort to stop us but it’s not enough. That is what is occurring in this video.

It's very close to the signed 16 bit integer limit actually. Which is 32768. I think the physics engine is a bit confused with the higher values. Minecraft doesn't really have a height limit, only a block build limit.

Need to put a horizontal sticky piston with a slime block at the top, timed for the moment you're passing it. That way you'll add horizontal motion to it, probably travel a few thousand blocks

Okay Mumbo I got some facts for you, are you ready? By using my phone and setting your video to 1/4 speed I managed to get a time of 32.55 seconds for you to hit 33442 meters. You were going around 1027.404 m/s and mach 3 this makes you faster than the fastest land vehicle the Thrust SSC. This is 10% the escape velocity of earth and .000342 the speed of light and on top of that faster than a speeding bullet. Now time to put your height into perspective. At around 11:03 you hit the height of the Burj Khalif at 829m then at 11:07 you got to Mt. Everest at 8848m after that you quickly reached the cruising altitude for commercial planes at 11:08, finally at 11:20 you reached the SR-71's altitude 25908m. If you were on land you could cross the straight of Dover with some wiggle room.

I seriously cant tell which is real and which is fake. There are two comments that say the exact same thing

Several notes on this. 1. The bizarre, reality-warping 'ceiling' you hit wasn't at the same height the two times you hit it, and neither time was exactly a power of two. This implies it's probably just an effect that comes from losing that much momentum at once, rather than a physical stopping point. 2. Might it be possible to build some sort of double- or triple- downwards extender grid of some sort, that would force the TNT to fall faster and allow you to cram in a bit more there? If possible, that'd allow some more height and further investigation of the weird ceiling you hit. 3. Maybe you could do this horizontally? As gravity doesn't pull the TNT into place in that case, it would end up harder to do, but you also wouldn't be fighting gravity to keep your momentum in that situation, so the physics of it and thus the results you'd get would be very different and likely interesting to see. 4. It'd probably be good to, if you do anything involving player-launching again, install a mod- Or just create a command-block thing- that measures your speed, and/or records top speed. That'd allow some more specific record-making. Great video anyway, always nice to see Mumbo doing explosions!

@@slowsloth3809 I don't believe it was a barrier. All that happened was that he stopped going up and started going down and that's when the weird visual effects happened. Because even at 31800 he saw the weird black visual but then he started going downwards. The next time be did it he saw the black visuals at 33000 and then be started going downwards. He could have continued going farther up.

This is a cool idea and a neatly made video, my only complaint was the launch heights wasn’t zero.

You could ditch the pistons entirely by reversing the water flow direction, and stick more dispensers of TNT in the floor thereof. Ditto on the dispensers for the Atomizer 9000.

@@cupandstrawproductions3153 In bedrock, TNT doesn't cause damage in water, but it does cause the same shockwave motion force stuff. So it might actually work in survival. Even though, I've heard they are removing it in 1.16

Good Jesus you were going ~1100 m/s. That's 2460 MPH! You, in Minecraft, were going ~3.2 (over Mach 3!) times the speed of SOUND! If you shouted upwards, you wouldn't hear it until you went back down and the sound caught up to you! Some more interesting comparisons include 2138.2 Knots, 3960 km/h, ~3609.2 ft/s, or 0.6 MILES per SECOND! You were going over 1/2 of a mile every god darn second Mumbo! You could also place dispensers in the floor and ceiling and put a barrel to the build limit to prevent tnt from falling on you and to give you some sort of odd boost from my testing

I did the math AGAIN now that someone taught me that . and , goes frame by frame, and i found that Jumbo's initial velocity within one frame was 22,548 mph. Or well over Mach 29. Original: I did the math, Jumbos initial velocity (in about the first 3 frames after liftoff of the last run) was about 9,909 mph, or just under Mach 13. Edit: Timestamp is 10:52 For those wondering how I got this number... In the first few seconds after Mumbo launches, and for the rest of his run, his speed decreases exponentially. If I measured the first second, it would be a given speed. If I measured the first 5 seconds or so, it would be a slower given speed. So, I slowed the video to .25% speed, mashed the play and pause button, and recorded his Y values frame by frame. KZread plays at 30fps, so I know how far he went within 1/30th of a second. From there, I converted from meters per 1/30th of a second to miles per hour, to Mach.

I did a small calculation and you go 800 blocks per second, with the time to reach the World height limit being about 42-43 seconds.

my brother and me made tnt player launchers all the time. One time we used end crystals and long story short...I fell for about 7 minutes straight down to earth XD so many memories on the xbox 360

Mumbo: I built a TNT cannon that shoots the player 33k blocks My TNT cannon that shoots the player 2.5 million blocks, and is a fraction of the size: Pathetic.

I think you should fill the dispensers with nukes.

I have seen someone launch himself 250000 blocks into the air. Without an end cannon. But idk how the video is called. The ultra dense cannon reached 142000 blocks. I stumbled upon the 250000 one while trying to beat the ultra dense cannon. I got to 127000 if i recall correctly. I gave up immediately when i saw the ultra dense cannon was not nearly the world record anymore. xD

He travelled 33.450 km into the sky in 37 seconds with an average speed of roughly mach 2.64 but if you take gravity into account his initial velocity would be mach 3.164 and a final velocity of mach 2.11. That would not be possible because even rockets go sideways to go up and since Earth's atmosphere is 480 kilometers high he still wouldn't be able to go to space in real life so I agree with your physics teacher. Only when it comes to real life.
