Same, but I'll cook it but all this making my own rolls and condiments? Nah, I don't have time for that.
My only issue with this is that the Whopper is always marketed as a flame-broiled burger, so not the same as a diner/smash burger. But other than that- looks great. And fries are surprisingly hard to make from scratch AND improve on what you can get in the freezer aisle.

I think I speak for everyone when I say we need you to make a double-triple bossy deluxe on a raft, four-by-four animal style; an extra side of shingles with a shimmy and a squeeze; light axle grease, make it cry, burn it and let it swim... but better.
The end product looks incredible but I feel like this but better episode was not so much of a replicate the Burger King meal and improve but more of a “ here’s a burger and fries that taste better than Bk’s”. The fries were made using a recipe you have for McDonald’s fries and you didn’t flame broil the burger.
Joshua Weissman is my spirit animal. I'll have you know, I make a great many of these recipes. My cooking game has leveled up so much over the past few years because of this guy.

I love how at the intro we always end up in the fridge
This will probably get buried, but I used to manage a BK. The one thing I always prided myself on was making burgers that looked like they do in the menu pics. I wasn't as fast as the guys who usually worked the board, but my sandwiches looked better and by default tasted better because I took a little extra time to make sure they came out right. If BK slowed down a little, their sandwiches would be so much better.
I take great inspiration from what you do in the kitchen Joshua. Much love all the way from Cape Town

I can tell Josh is a fan of Bill Wurtz because I've been binging his videos and he does bits like when he sang 'container' quite a bit. I love it every time he does it.
Italian here, I love your videos, I’ve been following you for a long time and I’m a fan of your recipes. I think you’re a great cook and I appreciate the fact that you use grams, I don’t really understand cups and spoons 🤣🤣🤣 also, your channel gives me the chance to explore a culinary culture that is different from mine. 😊 Looking forward to seeing more videos from you!’ 😊
That looks like a damn good burger. The only thing I would change is I would cook the burger patties over charcoal to get that authentic BK flame broiled flavor, but understandable that it's not really possible to do that in your home kitchen.
Can you do Air Fryer meals for us Papa Josh?? 🥺
Dang. It's 12:21 AM and now I have to get up and go grind some meat for burgers. Thanks a lot, Weissman! Damn temptations.
I grew up in the 1960s and my mother had a French fry cutter. It made really thick-cut sticks of potato that she would fry in Crisco in an electric skillet on the kitchen counter. We'd eat them with ketchup. I don't remember her freezing them first. I really liked them. I don't know if I had a restaurant fry until a McDonald's opened in our town a few blocks away in 1966. Everybody was excited to try their 15-cent hamburgers. I didn't think their French fries were as good as my mother's. A year or two later an A&W opened a few blocks in the other direction. I thought their French fries were better than McDonald's. And they had great root beer.
Triple double bacon whopper Whopper whopper whopper 😂😂😂😂
Hmmm. Does Josh have a series for video game/television food? I mean, wouldn't that be awesome to have Josh have another cookbook purely for stuff like the Cake N' Bacon cakes from Fairly Odd Parents, or maybe the 'strange bun' from Stardew Valley?

By "Your" McDonald's French Fry, do you mean to say you've discovered steps that Kenji didn't? I've been contemplating cooking the fries sous-vide for the first "blanch" before vaccum dessicating and giving the pre-freeze fry....
@dylandylandylandylandylan

Yeah, a lot of this feels downstream of Kenji -- McD french fries, salting tomatoes, etc. Still fun, but I'm curious too
But the burger isn't charbroiled...

See, the thing is - I got your book. I've done a few of your recipes. I got the hang of the cookies and the bread. I've done other recipes and I make a good cheesecake. These alone have impressed girls/women (and some men) around me. BUT THE LITERAL MOMENT the McDonald's fries' recipe drops... You're just pushing women into every man's arms at that point. Can't wait to add that to my repertoire :D

Double frying my french fries always gets them super crispy! no freezing needed.
Wow...just wow 👌 great job!
I know you made it your way, but I might have to disqualify you Joshua. You did not charbroil the burger patties which BK has been doing forever. Your burger might be amazing, but I respectfully don't think it can be called a BK Whopper without being charbroiled. I saw no open-flamed grill, you made a smash burger. Of course I'm joking, but sort of not really.
Wow, did you manage to do all this in under a minute? If so, amazing job beating Burger King. If not, you lost.

Can you show us how you would host a dinner party? Like do you serve the food or go buffet style and what do you serve?
I'm guessing one of the steps you changed with the McDonald's fry is a quick high temp fry before the freeze and a fry oil that will make the fries more crisp like beef tallow or peanut etc etc.
U can't beat that flame broil taste

I already bought your cookbook before this video. I knew I'd made a great choice once you said American cheese only belongs on a burger and grilled cheese sandwiches. (It also goes well in scrambled eggs and omelets too though) I live in Wisconsin where 1/4 of my diet is cheese, I have 5 cheese houses within a 30min drive from my house but American cheese is important to my cooking.

Steam the fries: dredge them in a starch them microwave them till softened, then fry. It's gives a pretty awesome fry: creamy, soft, and fluffy inside, and amazing crisp!
You can use a few granules of butter flavoring instead of salt as well as the veg oil.
