    I think it also supports the theory that matchmaking here is a complete FFA, because there's no way they should've been at 4 wins from how they played.

    @@rand0md00d They could have gotten to 4 wins based off the power of their deck. Double chrysalis is pretty good.

    Yooooo Kenji! I'm so grateful for your streams these weeks and VODS here on YT! Thanks to you and your advice I was able to win a box! I usually never win anything with these kinds of events, so I'm in complete shock and still shaking haha. I just kept playing through after 1 win and 1 loss, in some situations I was about to lose but either my opponents messed up their calculations (one even had lethal on me and I couldnt even kill them on the crackback but they just conceeded out of nowhere!) or I was able to stabilize somehow with just 2-5 life left. Was already happy to reach 2000 gems back but I somehow kept advancing... last game was a disgusting draw well curve out be on the play scenario which I thought was super lucky in the 5-1 bracket! Anyone can do this! Watch Kenji's streams, keep playing until the very last drop of blood and enjoy your freshly earned new cardboard yay!

    Echoes of Eternity + Glaring Fleshraker and any other Eldrazi is a 3 card combo that deals 20+ damage. You get 2 copies of Fleshraker from the Echoes of Eternity and then it also doubles the triggers, so when you cast another Eldrazi with 2 Fleshrakers on the board, you get 4 spawns triggering both Fleshrakers twice per spawn for 16 triggers, 1 spawn = 4 triggers. Finally, the actual Eldrazi being cast entering the board triggers for another 4 damage. If it's a Repurposer you get 24 damage from 3 cards. I think it might have been worth it to run with the amount of Eldrazi in the pool, also you were running 41 cards.

    I played on with an ulalek once and the triggers were absolutely insane. I played a propagator drone and got like 40 of them and all of their evolve triggers went on the stack at the same time so I had a bunch of 40/40 spawn tokens

    Not if you have the money to spot and can win like numot. $100 for 20,000 gems = $25 per draft. $25 x 21 games = $525. MH3 boxes are going for ar $230 so 8x230 =$1840 - 525 = $1,315 in value hes won so far. Lots of time investment though so there is that to consider.

  • @nalceD1

    @nalceD1

    @@Codefy Also, that's not accounting the gems you get back from the 4 and 5 win runs. Financially, definitely not a ripoff presuming you would have spent the money on boxes anyways. Then again, we're also not accounting that boxes themselves are kinda ripoffs to begin with. So from that perspective I think I'm on OP's side.

  • @Codefy

    @Codefy

    @@nalceD1 Well I would hope people are playing because they enjoy the games as well. If you don't get stressed and love playing sealed then reselling the boxes is getting paid to do something you like doing. It's definitely not something your average player should invest in to make profit especially if they hate playing the games. I just disagree that paying $25 to enter a tournament to possibly win a $230 box is a rip off., what people expect to pay $10 or something. If you care about the box and like playing the games then hopefully you could win atleast 1/9 tournaments you enter. Don't play if you don't think you could, easy.

    @@CodefyPretty sure it's overall a MUCH worse value than Arena Opens, unless you are literally one of the top 0.1% drafters in the world, I don't think participation is worth it, the EV drops very quickly with winrate.
