Until you get a copyright strike for having the same kick as someone else, or someone calls you out for using common loop packs. I used to have 11gb of drums, but now I make them myself to save all that hastle and embarrassment after it's released. Also, companies/people can change their agreements and get a sample copyright registered. Meaning you now illegally own the said sample, even if they gave it to you free previously. Be aware if you make a pop/chart hit

this is basically negligible with a kick or snare sample LMAO copyright detection systems check for like longer periods of song to be identical to a pop song to what you have in your song, it would be totally unreasonable otherwise. Plus Splice (which is where most people would get these samples) would be protecting you from that kinda stuff, they likely would never change the EULA like that on the fly

Absolutely, but to a degree! I think DJ Pain or someone similar said a new technology may be implemented that can detect one shot kicks a lot more accurately than present. I forgot the detection software in development's name. But certainly not as much at the minute. Although being an ex KZread Music label owner in 2017, lots of my producers were flagged by varoius other labels for samples, on my label. Some of which made crazy Tech House/Psy etc, so I can only guess it was the drums alerting copyright strikes, as they wrote their synths with too much longevity and complexity to be sampled synths But you stand 100% correct, with Splice there will never be any court proceedings, as you are covered under your Splice license. But Social media labels can still claim your revenue on Instagram, KZread, Snap, soundcloud etc if you don't win an appeal if a label strikes a song. On a grand scale you can loose quarter of earning from all the drum strikes ruinning a label, escpecially if people use EDM house loops that give the detection algorythym plenty to pick up on @@NeddieOfficial
