Making short pixie style BJD doll wig • Silicone cap • Relaxing process video
Hi! I am visual artist from Ukraine and my current big project is a series of Ball-jointed Dolls (BJD). I decided to share some parts of the process with you.
In this video I am showing three main stages in creating the doll wig: making the silicone cap, gluing the hair and styling.
Enjoy!
Materials:
I am using the goat hair for the wig and silicone sealing for the cap.
!For safety reasons I wear rubber gloves!

Дякую ❤️
I love learning new and different techniques for this craft. Thank you for sharing. I purchased my first bjd and have been struggling to customize her. Can you provide a list of the products you used? What type of stretchy material was that? What kind of silicone are you using. Do you think this would work on weft of human hair?

For the hair is not recommended to use humans because it’s much thicker. The best one to use is the wool, for ex goats hair (like I am using), or lamb (very thin and soft and curly). Or the synthetic doll hair, I find them on aliexpress. It’s very colorful but you need to be careful and not to use hairdryer or any kind of heat stylers, because it’s plastic. About the materials I am using - I usually try to list the main materials in infobox under the videos, hope you will find there what you need🙏
Was silicone also used to make the wefts of hair?
Please tell me where I can buy the magnets, their amazing

Yes, it is washable. I am not sure about dying hair however, the roots will not change color..

@@katesamostudio were they also heat resistant? Like for styling the hair? Im too worried if ever they would melt.... also thanks for answering i deeply appreciates it

@@Dielock it actually depends on the material you use. On the package of my material it is written that it can be used up to +120 degrees celsius. So please check the instructions before trying 🙏
I got a question. Why not to buy already made silicone caps?

It is easier and faster for me to make the cap than to look for specific sized one, to order it and wait)
2 questions, what kind of glue are you using for the hair? Where did you find the chair? Thank you
@katesamostudio

Hello! This is not a glue, but a silicone sealing, the one that is used in bathrooms, to prevent a water leakage. And the chair’s from aliexpres:) hope that helps!

@Kate Samo I purchased a tube of clear silicone from Amazon I think it's the same kind for bathrooms and such. So you are attaching the hair WITH the same silicone. Just to clarify
