How to Make a Doll Wig | Making Yarn Wefts | Mozekyto

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hey everyone! In this video, I am going to show you how to make yarn wefts for doll wig projects!
Brushed yarn is such an amazing alternative if you don't have easy access to alpaca or other fibers. Its great for beginners too as its cheap and come in many colors! Hope you find this tutorial helpful!

Instead of using a hair straightener, you can pour hot water over the wefts and then brush them again. This worked for me, anyway.

For those without a straightener, or simply looking for silkier, smoother results; use fabric softener or conditioner mixed with boiling hot water! Let it soak for 5 minutes then hang it up to dry. After, brush it using a fine-toothed comb. Hope this helps!

Tip - Thicker and bulkier yarn unravels much easier, and there's less effort needed to make it into usable doll hair floof. That's something i've noticed while trying out different yarns :3

    1. You absolutely do not need that mesh thing, just tie it down the same way around basically anything: barbecue sticks, pencils, knitting needles etc, etc... 2. The length of the weft is limited to the length of the yarns fibers (yarns are made when spinning the ends of the fibers together, when you brush it you will break the fibers apart again as they're not really 'attached' to each other, other than being tightly spun). You can actually collect the fluff when you're done, just hold it down with a finger and brush that out and continually adding the new fluff of the brush to this new weft! With enough patience there will be basically no excess left. 3. Straightening is also possible in a thousand different ways, as many people have commented just pour hot water on them then brush again, you can iron them on a low setting, heck you can probably just rinse them in cold water, brush flat and then put something heavy on top like a stack of books and leave over night, get creative!

Yeah, I have been having that issue, too. * The bits that didn't come apart? Separate them from the brushed yarn and brush them on their own. That way, you aren't re-brushing and tearing the already straight-ish parts. * Don't try to get the whole thing fully brushed while it's attached to whatever you attached it to. Do what you can, clip it off, flip it around and do the "roots" that are still unbrushed. I don't foresee me being able to get nice, long fibres but trying these things seems to yield more potentially usable fibre.

My straightener doesn't have an actual temperature setting so I spent a whole night trying to find the sweet spot to straighten the wefts. On a scale of 1-20, its a 15. Also, the single row wire brushes don't work that well. I would go with the one she is actually using.

This tutorial is AMAZING. Currently trying it with a pastel colored yarn, and the results are coming along wonderfully. I'm trying to make some other wefts as well, but I'm having some issues with those. For some reason, whenever my strings are longer than the one I was using for the other ones, they end up practically shredding, knotting, and getting ripped apart. And this is being VERY gentle with them. They shrink to at least a third of their size. Any recommendations? :( I want to make a pretty long wig

Comes in very handy for my crochet goodies with hair😊 I used a very similar technique for my crazy-haired purple Minion I made 2 years ago. Only, I brushed out the yarn when it was attached to the Minion's head and I didn't use a straightener, but it came out beautifully and soft and wild and fluffy 😄 Thank you for the tutorial 👍😎

To make it silky straighten it,put conditioner in a bowl of hot water, use a wooden mixing stick to resolve it,dip your weft in but don't let the glue touch the water, hang it up to dry for two hours or more and comb it with a normal human comb. To make it longer, use 50cm long yarn .do this by cutting 1meter of cardboard and rapping 1meter if yarn Arlington and cutting one side to make 50cm hair.then once you fluff it it should be 30cm+

No, you can't. It has to be at least 80% acrylic. Wool is not only more expensive, but when brushed out like this it will eventually felt, and heat destroys it. I make yarn tails for sale, you can not use wool for these kinds of fiber products.

Yes, acrylic is made with plastic that is melted into a very thin continuous strand that is then made into yarn, cotton and wool are small hairs that are twisted together to make a strand. I've seen a lot of people use higher end yarns because they think the hair will be better but it will end up extremely short, full plastic is the way to go!
