Hello from Bangkok. Today I'm going to make special bag for myself, a shell cordovan leather. You might know that shell cordovan is very special leather made from horse butt. It's very durable, smooth and shine. It's very easy to work with this leather but just need a bit experience with it then you will know that's there are tricks and delicacy process method needed.
I love to work with this leather a lot.
And I will sure will work with the shell cordovan again.
ENJOY our video.

My leather supplier sells that leather. It comes from the inside of the horse's legs on its butt. There is only two small areas on the horse to make it from. It is $210 per piece. It is a premium leather to say the least.

Hi as always excellent work. What kind of machine is this at 2:38 that you used to put your trademark on the leather? And how did you get your trademark made into a stamp?

  • @craftsmangus

Hi Otealua. On that min 2.38 is heat stamping machine. This one is local made cannot find in the internet. Hi Gus. Your pattern is 4mm spacing, do you use finer spacing in the video though? Your stitching looks more refined for some reason. Maybe finer thread? I cant figure it out. Thank you!

Hi Michael. Yes it is. My pattern making for sell is 4.0 mm. As it's very good start and also I believe most of leather craftsmen have this size as standard set. For me personally I like to use 2.7 mm. pricking iron with 0.35 mm. thread. Also even I draw pattern in 4.0 mm. you also can apply with other size of pricking iron too. :)

Good work. Nice wallet but I think after you get cards and cash etc in wallet it will be very thick. Too thick. In back pocket it will cause sciatica.
