In this video we'll be recreating the Pokemon 'Metapod' in Blender. We'll start with the game model as a base, then sculpt high resolution details and create materials using a variety of procedural textures - all done inside Blender!

I creating a realistic pokemon fan game, and this modeling is dope. it always made more sense to start with the base model from the games, then add more detail in blender

Having access to the game models is really awesome. Although I wouldn't say it's *always* the best place to start. The game models are optimised for...well games. So they're triangulated and extremely low poly. This is definitely not the best place to start sculpting from. But you can do a little bit of work to make them sculptable. And if nothing else, they're great for getting proportions correct! And now I have to ask, do you have a link to your fan game?
Yes, very good work, you would deserve more views.
