@@papateachme That's the tradition 😊 Some widows/widowers just stop wearing their wedding rings, but putting them on the left hand, in a sense, demonstrates the continuity of love.

I looked at the title and thought to myself "what did I drunkenly subscribe to?" And then it hit me. It's PTM but with placki ziemniaczane :) Greetings from Poland. :) Your channel is superb :)

Nice to see you actually liked placki ziemniaczane. But I'm the weird one who likes them without onion and all that salty seasoning and with strawberry jam/sugar instead of cottage cheese :D

Thanks and now I'm dying to eat deruny (that's one of the versions of how we call potato pancakes in Ukrainian). And with some smetana (sour cream) on top... 😋 It's on of my biggest guilty pleasures. By the way, I live in Brussels and Polish markets here are AWESOME ! They always save me from my gastronomic homesickness.

There is nothing more Polish meal than bigos (sauerkraut cooked for a few days with beef, pork, smoked sausage and smoked ribs). :-)

The real stew is made from beef. "Placki ziemniaczane po węgiersku" (potato cake of Hungary) is not known in Hungary. :-)

I'm from Poland but I didn't know Polish vodka ( Soplica ) goes so well with potato pancakes ( placki ziemniaczane) and sweets😂🤪 You should try another one Żubrówka ( vodka ) with apple juice- I have a feeling you gonna like it😁

Great! The potato pancakes are the favorite food of 99% Ukrainians too 😍😋 I just love it so much and can't stop eating them until I see the empty plate 😆 although it makes my waist bigger 😂 tomorrow I'll cook it definitely

Oh, it's a popular dish in the Eastern Europe. In Belarus these potatoe pancakes are called «dranyki», for instance.

Big ❤ for the potato pancakes, especially for the crispy ones with lots of different types of sauces and flavours. My favourite, the number one still is with addition of cream and sugar. Crazy, right?

Hi,Aly :) I like placki zıemniaczane :) It looks like our müjver.We just use zucchini instead of potato. By the way, you're not alone to be weird. Coz, we also wear wedding ring on left hand in Turkey :) ( engagement ring on right hand)

I noticed also herings there!

in italy, as in most european countries as far as I know,, wedding rings are worn on the the left ring finger

The thing with the ring on the right hand, it is far from Europe vs UK. I believe orthodox guys wear it on the right (orthodox - pravoslavny... Pravo- right). At least for polish neighbors - czechs and slovaks, we wear it on the left.

Placki are pretty good with ketchup or with Maggi liquid seasoning 😀

First of all please don't use vegeta especially if you want to try "placki ziemniaczane" with sugar. Vegeta it's a taste killer (and only Vegeta from DragonBall have rights to kill)with it everything taste the same. Secondly in Poland if you're drinking liquoir with others you always puring it to the others first and you are the last or even can ask somebody else to filling the glass for you, sometimes, not always ;) Anyway great video as always ! ! ! We call that "draniki" in Belarus. But we eat it with sour cream. Draniki is our national dish. We also have another good one. It is called "Babka" or "Potato babka". One of my favorite if it is cooked well. I wish I could invite you to Belarus to try it. But I can't go back home because of the political regime. But if you ever in Prague, Czech Republic, I can show you my collection of puzzles and cook "babka".

I didn’t expect to see this here but it's a nice surprise. As a Pole 💈, I’ve never really liked potato pancakes / hash browns but I've always only had them seasoned with salt and pepper. After seeing your Polish friend's recipe with that extra spice mix, i'll definetely have to try that. And the cottage cheese makes for a good dip. And that Polish vodka to it 😆 well, normally we don’t drink that, especially in a family with kids, but single people probably do drink it more frequently. Cheerszdrowie! Na zdrowie! (Literally means "To health!", btw)

About the ring on the left hand isn’t a British thing, many countries over Europe or the world using it on the left hand, I think that’s is a Polish thing and also a Spanish thing… 🙏😘😘
