They said the machine crushes the seeds, which make the wine more bitter. They only do this with more expensive wines though i think.

Jacques, all the bacteria is killed during the next stage, which is fermentation. Smashing the grapes with your feet is essential in Port, wine, since foot cannot smash the seeds that will be very important in the final flavour.

All alcoholic drinks are disgusting, so yeah. Wine is no exception. I honestly don't understand why anyone ever thought making wine was a good idea. Shit tastes awful if we're being honest. I used to think it was an adult thing, that I would like it when I grew up and out of my child phase, but at 28 yeats of age I still hate it all the same 😂

Actually back then wine was considered to be cleaner than water and milk since alcohol has bacteria killing properties. So none of the bacteria left from their skin will ever reach your lips.

You all realize that the alcohol kills the germs from the foot trodding.
