Making Pin Buttons (buttons) | Pin Button Maker - Selling on Etsy

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I'm a UK entrepreneur with an Etsy store selling offensive greeting cards and gifts. Although I am running before I can walk I wanted to look at low cost ways to increase the product range and badges (buttons) seemed like a low cost way. This video walks through the Etsy competition, the costs of equipment, per badge cost and a brief tutorial on how to make a badge

Just about to start this, I’ve had a look and Etsy seems a bit expensive to me. And you’re right about the printer. My colours of my prints are quite bright but could well look the part under a shiny plastic covering.

I have an American Button Machine setup. Press and pin pieces cost over $700 (I make 1.25” buttons only) and have made my money back many times over. I sell my buttons cheap at $1 each for a profit of about 75 cents each. Once I get my bigger and smaller presses I’ll adjust those prices slightly higher. I plan on spending another $1500 next year and making it back in six months. I’m excited to see how you do!

@@EveryCameraCounts I now have a canon lbp6222cdw laser printer. It's the cheapest way to print and you get super great images, I just suggest not using the wireless capability and plug it into your pc/laptop. I use it to make pins, cards, stickers, price lists etc and I'm still running off the toner they send with the machine. I think it was like $200 or so, it goes on sale sometimes. If you print daily or weekly, then the canon pixma pro 100 is the way to go, it's 500$ but super worth it, I just don't print all the time to justify it. I actually just figured out lists of button stuff, looking to get more presses etc and if I sell 5000 1.25" buttons at 1$ each then I am looking at 4650$ profit. Now with the world today all of my shows are being canceled and I only do 3-4 small shows a year so that would probably be over 3 years, but that's good. The other machines I want with supplies are 5600 so that's great!! My new printer has made my profits higher and sorry I rambled so much haha

How did you end up getting on with this machine? I've looked at e-badges, but I'm leaning more towards Blank Badge's G-Series machines.

Do you find that they scratch easily & you get a lot that you can't send out ? I used to do fridge magnets & this was an issue.

If you hold the pin on the back you can twist round the front to line it up. Does that make sense?

What I love about the e-badges machine is that all the components are easily replaced if they get damaged - the dies, "top hat" and metal ring, spacers etc. I bought one recently and had a slight problem with it. The company provided fantastic customer service. Turns out there was a piece of foil stuck in the die. Easily sorted.
