This was the best 14:50 I've ever spent watching on YT. Your craftsmanship, artistry, and education lured me in... no pun intended, well maybe just a bit. Thank you for this. I now have a new project to fuck up!
you are the parent of lures, teachers of teachers
PAUL, I dont fish, never have - but I found your video very interesting. Great the attention to detail. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Trollololol I wouldn't know where to start tbh, my dad took me when I was maybe 4 years old
Back in 1980 I worked in a contract machine shop. One of our jobs was to make a mold for those type of lures. We made the master of harden steel and pressed it into a aluminum block. Of course our mold made 48 lures at a pressing. The video showed an very effective method of making a mold.
most professional youtube video demonstration I have ever seen.
never really known what goes into making a soft plastic before now , and I must say pretty damn impressive. Paul you are a true craftsman.
I've been interested in making my own soft plastics for awhile. You videos are very helpful thanks.
Thanks for taking the time to make this vid, As Jake said, -Unbelievable! my wife and I truly enjoyed watching; and it swims like a fish too. Great Lure, thanks again!
charlie is very thankful this will help him with his major project he is working on
Seriously amazing!! Great job on these lures!
Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, kzread.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.
That was some accurate pouring! They look great. Nice action
Keep it coming Mr. Paul. Great tutorial!
nice btw the lures swim amazing probably some of the best action ive seen from a paddletail
awesome lures great job showing how it is done and how well they work and proving them. Thanks a bunch!!
I've never made a swim bait, looks like next weekend's project. Thanks for making the videos.
Thanks for your reply. I'm impressed and excited to see your next video(s)!
you're a huge inspiration! thanks for making these videos and sharing them for us!!!
Paul, I so envy your ingenuity. Got me inspired to start making my own lures. I don't think you are going to be replaced in the near future. Cheers!
I have no idea how I got here or any intention of making these, but this was an awesome and interesting tutorial. Cheers!

Such a marvel and the action in those lures were amazing
very impressed with the action on your swim bait, great job!
Just found your films and it’s really got me wanting to make my own lures👍🏼👍🏼
Great video! Loved how you repurposed that pasta maker for rolling out the clay! Much more even than using a doe roller. Just a very good, straight forward how to video!
wow, what an ingenious, creative and subtle use of materials for creating the master. I'm impressed!
I don't know if I have the patience to do such a thing, but it was a great watch! Thanks for sharing. Very interesting.
love watching your videos, ive been pouring and injecting soft plastics for almost 10 years now and I can def say from the looks of those swimbaits you have a real talent at pouring. Great work and super nice baits! the action on those looks great!

i think this was just one of the those baits that worked first time and managed to avoid the junk pile. My first prototype got its tail bitten off in just a few casts and then i kinda new it would work out. Cheers
your videos are epic they taught me alote about how to make my own lures keep up the good work
I love the patience and attention to detail.....probably very theraputic work too......great video. Subscribed, and gonna try!
As always Paul, it's a great job!
i love the action of that bait, bass would love it
so many great tips, thank you so much. Very well done video. Great looking lures btw.
I enjoy your narration.. you sound like a accomplished writer!
You're very talented. My husband does this too, although his mold-making materials are different. Fascinating to watch another person's process. Your video was very well done, also.
The amount of work and detail you put into your work never ceases to amaze me... bravo

Love the paddle tail lure.
Great Tutorial Paul...
using lego for the mold was a great idea. wayyy easier than making one out of wood every time you need a different size.
Creating the Master? Well isn’t that you already Paul…I think so! Nice work brother, you’ve inspired me again! Thanks, and regards from Cam of Ontario, Canada eh?! PS- I love the triangle bracket you put in on the tail…I mean, that is good thinking. Way to use your loaf! You’ve got an engineers brain. Little things that make a world of difference, are the things that keep jets in the air.
Thank you for an excellent demonstration

Sculpting lures out of clay is something i have only tried in the last few years mainly because i thought i would never be able to make anything good, i wish i had started messing round with it years ago.
Great video & info ..learned a lot ..thanx !

good luck, with the lures and the move thanks
Splendid little video!! I carved some pike plugs out of an old broom handle, they came out really well, I painted them up and kept them as ornaments, they're on the living room wall, held up with blue tack, id be devastated if I lost one, but it must be a good buzz catching a fish with a home made lure!

great video and nice fish mate, youve helped me out heaps! 👍🏾
Fantastic matey! Just the site I've been looking for. Great vid to follow, concise, no bollocks, to the point and not full of expensive equipment. I'm looking to get into all types of lure making as a winter project, wooden, plastic, metal spinners etc. Hopefully I'm going to give your method a go, (just gotta find a child to nick some Lego off!!!). Anyway, once again great vid mate, keep up the good work, peace.

nice fish
good job mate, looks awesome. nice pike too!
What about a video where you explain how to color softbaits? I'm interested in the perch pattern showed. Great video as always.
Excellent video great job i now want to make my own lures
Well done project!
For people who cant get the metal mesh or want to save money, masking tape works well. Polymer clay will stick to it. Great tutorial, my only problem is that where I live buying the silicone and pvc would cost way more than just buying lures. Might try some carved ones though!
Good job Paul! I love your videos and the way you tell us the tricks how to do everything, its good to understand for people who dont speak so good english! thanks!

FANTASTICO, COMPLIMENTI!
THOSE WORK AMAZING
Wow awesome swimbait man! These would work great where i live in the states for walleyes! Cannot believe anyone would thumbs down your video?! Love the perch collored one! The red ones are nice too! One of my favorite swimbaits was a strawberry red with silver fleck and it had a white twister tail. They discontinued them and i cant find them now. Ughh i used to alternate between paddletails and twister tails. Something about a swimbait body with a twister tail the walleyes just love it! They like the paddletails too dont get me wrong. These were by riverside lures yum infused seaside minnows they were called. Black shad. The strawberry red with white tail was called the samurai tail by riverside yum. Now known as the mud minnow but the colors aren't the same anymore. Wish they would bring back the seaside minnnows!! Good stuff man! Thanks! Fish on!!
This video was so relaxing. subbed.
Really good job !
