Jörg Winger says at the end of the video that they are having talks about creating a new show with the same characters, set in the '90s.

@@davidbastardo4154 : the most talked about show from germany exported worldwide of all time,..... no not netflix dark or mad dogs of berlin. or even babylon berlin.... its deutschland 83,86 and 89 the highest every viewing figures in australia,UK for a foreign language drama.... and the biggest celebrity jonas nay... recognised wherever he goes... virtually everyone wants to visit the DDR musuem in berlin and recrate at least the facade of the palace of the DDR republik..., as in 2020 berliner schloss ,berliner dom and tv tower at alexanderplatz...

83 is the greatest tv I've ever watched... 86 is really good, but it took a 2nd watch to truly get it.. 89 is good.. certainly very watchable, a few stand out scenes and performances but the weakest of the 3
