You do beautiful work. I am really impressed and inspired. As to your comments on how Autumn looks, you have obviously never been in Western North Carolina, specifically around Asheville in autumn. It looks exactly like calendar pictures. My backyard just was breathtaking. There was a maple tree at the end of the street that would spend two weeks turning colors. It would be different every day and just astonishing. I built houses in the mountains of Western North Carolina. There were a few days in the autumn where we didn't get anything done we just sat on the deck and gaped at the fall colors. Now, I grew up in Minnesota and there you get about 2 days of color and then all the leaves fall off and it's done. Definitely true for Minnesota.

I have not been in NC to see the leaves - i'm guessing the Alleghenies play a nice roll in the colors. Here in Western PA we're at the mercy of the weather. This last fall, the weather was perfect (we actually had seasonable weather for several weeks) so we had some decent color. Most years we get a week or two where we slam right into winter and the leaves just turn brown and die. It's not uncommon to get a snow while leaves are still on the trees - even if it doesn't last long on the ground.

enjoy it! the results are awesome. i had to convert mm into inches to figure out how big your layout is; i'm not going to lie. that's a nice size n scale layout - will look absolutely stunning in autumn colors!

isn't it nice to see a layout that isn't just green and boring all the time?! don't get me wrong, summer layouts are the norm - which is why i think i hate them so much LOL!

Thanks for a good theme for fall, It seems to me for some reason in N scale layouts all trees top out at 40-50 scale trees. Also I do believe you can position trees to move your eyes away or to point out a detailed scene. You do a great job blending the seasons. I too, use super trees but have found another source for a like product at Hobby Lobby in the dried flower area. They look very much like super tree frames. Have to try soaking them in India ink wash with mat medium. I have been using a medium grey with an air brush. Really liked the video.

i've experimented with a couple different products from Michaels for tree armatures. they were ok - i'll have to check out hobby lobby and see what their section offers. super trees are a little expensive - but the results are undeniable. I'm surprised woodland scenics hasn't caught up to them yet. gray is the perfect tree color! everyone always goes brown and there aren't too many brown tree trunks - they're mostly grays - so an india ink and gray color would be perfect!

I'm just starting on my layout. It is N scale in a 12×12 room. I am planning on both the autumn and winter on an upper self with summer on the main level.

spend time on the transition scenes - they're always a crowd pleaser for open houses. since not a lot of layouts do that, you're going to get good feedback. absolutely love the idea!

Hi C Mastracci , haven’t got to that stage yet. But I do like the way you do your trees. Yea here in N. C. We’ll have some trees still green and others changing. But I do like the super trees. Now change the subject what do you think about Deluxe Materials Ballast Magic. I know you’ll be straight up about the product. Thanks for sharing. Have a good Sunday. 😎😎 👍

NC is kind of on the edge of 4-seasons - so you just made the cut! I've seen videos on Ballast Magic but i've never used it. i think if it works as advertised it's pretty cool but haven't done any cost comparisons to the much messier spray bottle and diluted glue method - which is really inexpensive. Have you tried it?

I go by sight, so i don't measure each tree. but, if you figure a full drown tree is somewhere around 60' tall - depending on the tree - you're about 4-5" tall for n scale.

What are super trees? And where modelers can find them at to buy?

Super Trees are made by Scenic Express. I usually find mine at train shows, but you can also find them online. They're a dried natural plant product that's perfect sized for n scale and HO scale armatures.
