I've noticed that you don't do this but I slightly curl the 'trip pins' on my locomotives and rolling stock. For sure, sooner or later they will get caught somewhere on your track. 50% of the time the pin will come off when it catches something and as you try to curl it. No big deal, better off without them. Take care !

Accumate couplers! You look at the trip pin wrong and those PITA things fall off LOL! MicroTrains are better, they do give you the chance to adjust them - I usually prefer to push them up ever so slightly to clear as opposed to bending them but usually during install they curl up a little anyway. that fact that both of those couplers still had their Accumate pins in shows you how infrequently that loco was run!
