Graduate Michael Phelps' CNC machining journey from the bustling streets of New York to the heart of North Carolina is a story that has to be shared. "I actually started machining up in New York and wanted to learn more. So, I decided to come to school down here in North Carolina," Michael tells us.
What has Michael hooked? It's all about manufacturing. "Realizing what you can do with CNC really interested me," he admits. And like many students, he's a hands-on learner. "It’s one of the best ways that I learn," he says. Our programs are designed for students to learn through doing.
Being around people who also enjoy the CNC part of it has been a big help for Michael. "It’s definitely been helpful being around people that also enjoy the CNC part of it and it helps me learn from people who have more experience," he shares.
