I would definitely dry it completely, I think the powder is even prettier. You did it slightly different that me, but it still looks great. I only got about 5 grams, but I just have it on display.

I agree 100% it takes on a much nicer color when it dries. I have another process I like more so I might do a v2.0 on this video and include the dry pigment.
Ooh other colours. How about ferrari red, pigment red 254? DPPs are a beautiful class of organic dye and they are also very good materials for organic transistors
Did you make cinnabar yet? I'd like to see that.

I have not, I held off on it because of its high toxicity, but I think I'll make a small amount soon as a demo
Beautiful pigment. Could you do another violet, quinacridone?

I've been looking into that one, but it seems overwhelmingly complex. Maybe I'll figure it out though so stay tuned.
wow! this was really beautiful, thank you! did you ask for another pigment? How about synthetic Carminic acid?

I've looked into that and it seems a bit too complex, definitely worth a shot though :)
Awesome video! The color is understandably exactly like that of the mineral purpurite (MnPO4)

Manganese makes such a lovely purple in its +3 state

haha thanks!
Sir can I do the reaction in a round flask
Can u make Red from red oxide?

Which red oxide?
Nice! I read that ammonium phosphate is unstable. Can sodium ammonium hydrogen phosphate be used instead? What about blue copper phthalocyanine next time?
@integral_chemistry

Yeah ammonium hydrogen Phosphate should work just fine! And funny you should mention copper phthalocyanine, I've made 6 different attempts at that synthesis over the last month and failed every single time. I've been trying to use Boric acid as a catalyst instead of the ammonium molybdate that all the synthesis notes call for. Apparently Boric acid is a bust so I'm gonna give it another shot when the molybdate arrives in the mail.

@@integral_chemistry I did it in test tube scale without any catalyst, with copper sulfate instead of chloride, with phthalic acid instead of phthalic anhydride and it worked very easily and fine.

Huh.. what did you use for a heat source? Just a Bunsen burner? How heat sensitive is it? I know a minimum synthesis temp is 185 but is there a maximum?
@integral_chemistry

Also did you use a solvent?
@experimental_chemistry

@@integral_chemistry No, I just molt it together in a test tube over the bunsen burner flame.

Something about how this narrator reads "hot oil bath, etc" 😆
