    Maybe drilling a 2mm hole trough black dot(number one) and then put a nail in it, fill it with wood filler and paint it black again.

    Actually that's not a bad idea. Maybe with some precision drilling tools you could even hollow it up quite a bit if you work through the dots on the sides with many of them.

    "What is my perfect crime? I break into Festool's store at midnight. Do I go for the domino joiner? No, I go for the HEPA Dust Extractor. It's priceless. As I'm taking it down, a woman catches me. She tells me to stop. It's her father's business. She's Tiffany. I say no. We make love all night. In the morning, the cops come and I escape in one of their uniforms. I tell her to meet me in Mexico, but I go to Canada. I don't trust her. Besides, I like the cold. Thirty years later, I get a postcard. I have a son and he's the chief of police. This is where the story gets interesting. I tell Tiffany to meet me in Paris by the Trocadero. She's been waiting for me all these years. She's never taken another lover. I don't care. I don't show up. I go to Berlin. That's where I stashed the Festool CT 48 E HEPA Dust Extractor." - Matthias after KZread demonetization

    You should try steaming they spot where the knife or chisel compressed the wood to restore it. Or moisten the cut and then apply a hot iron, not too hot to burn it but just turn the water to steam.

    You could also get plastic dice and bake them slightly. Just enough to loosen the plastic so it flows down internally, but not enough to deform the dice. Won't get you as extreme of results, but then that also means you're less likely to get caught cheating.

    Have you heard of the loaded dice that have three channels inside, each containing a drop of mercury? The channels are drilled in such a way that they're all at right angles to each other and parallel with lines connecting opposing corners of each die. You use them by holding the dice with the desired result uppermost and giving them a sharp tap, as one might do when making some incantation to good fortune before throwing them.

    Drill the number dots and put bird shot in the holes. I had a pair that had all 5s on one die and all 2s and 6s on the other, I think. Does that work? So you would switch dice and come out w/ 7s or 11s. For some reason, we don't look at the side numbers, which would make the dice obvious. Pretty cool, but not what I had expected.

    I wonder if you could drill the "1" pip and then make the hole wider on the inside so that you could put more lead/solder than what a pip-sized hole would allow for.

  • @maxximumb
    @maxximumb6 жыл бұрын

    Why not drill out the holes? I you drill out the 1 and the lowest pip on each face, with the 6 uppermost, then fill with solder or lead shot and glue. You can then seal the holes over with some filler to create the same dimple as the other pips. Now you have a weighted die without split marks.

    @Maxx B, instead they make subtle differences to the Dice itself. For example, it being one Millimetre thicker on the lower end of the dice compared to the higher end. Very hard to notice yet can yield more result toward the lower portion. Yet not Obvious. Or they use a paint that might be slightly Heavier compared to the other paint, yet same colour under the Light of the play tables. One can make many subtle differences to cheat Gamblers without them noticing.

  • @jonathangrant162
    @jonathangrant1626 жыл бұрын

    I suppose even if you had the perfect loaded die that was manufactured to be uneven (meaning no marks), you could still check to see if it was loaded by putting it on the edge of the table. Its center of mass is not in the middle of the cube, so even if the heavy side hanging less than halfway off the table, it should still fall off.

    Why not start with a blank cube? Cut it open, hollow it and weight it as you please, and glue it back together. Sand all the faces perfectly smooth, drill the pip marks, then *paint* the die (say, black) and fill in the pips with a contrasting color (say, white). Then the only way anyone would ever know it was loaded was by the uneven weight of it in their hand.

    A good way to fix dice is to put the side you want it to land on facing up and put it in an oven for a couple minutes and the insides will melt to the bottom so when you throw it after wards it lands on the lightest side up which is the number you chose.(only works with plastic and other meltable materials)

  • @rayvenwrathchild313
    @rayvenwrathchild3136 жыл бұрын

    Make sure when you split die you cut parallel to the length of the wood grain instead of perpendicular. Should be less compression of the fibers-wood will have greater tendency to simply split instead of compressing. Now i am wondering if I can take stacked MDF/hardboard to make a die. Once sanded the lines should be nearly invisible and you make loaded die from inside out instead of splitting one that already had been made..

    true, but you could do it with a unfinished piece, or just sand the varnish off prior, and then just dip it in shellac afterwards a few times and buff it, right? the only other way i can see you ripping into the dice without leaving a mark would be to drill holes into the dots, then put a cylinder in it and pull the wood apart using the cylinder. obviously the holes would need to be rebuilt afterwards, but you could use a black epoxy to fill them, and as long as you do that to each hole in a way that makes it look like it was made that way, then it would still work. Or, if you are going to use epoxy anyway, you could make a mold, and install the weights into the mold, and then just pour it i am plum out of ideas, as those are the only things i can think of in 5 minutes. you are very smart, so i am curious to see your final solution to this problem.

    I made loaded dice once, but in a simpler way. I drilled a hole through the single dot of the '1' and put some led behind it. then I closed it up and put some new paint on the dot. invisible!

    The piece could be longer in the cutting direction (a cuboid) and split apart, weighted inside, glued back together and then the faces finished cleanly and made into a cube. This would align the wood grains properly and hide the split line.

    You could make a hole the same diameter of one of the dots, fill with solder and paint again.

    It's a lot easier if you just figure out which side you want to be down, drill the dots deeper, then put a couple of lead bird shot in the bottom of the holes. A drop of super glue holds them down, and you just put a bit of wood filler on top and re-drill the dots. Of course you don't want to load them too heavy. You want to tilt the odds in your favor, not win so much that people can tell they are loaded.
