Luke has a Japanese Larch that urgently needed a new home! So what better challenge than designing a new pot!
If you watch the video in full you will see how this one turns out… I won’t say any more than that!!

This one tested me for sure. They can be as simply or complicated as you create :D Thank you 😊
Honestly, I didn't know what I was watching until the 5 minute mark :) And this has to be the best use of a bank card I've ever seen 🤣 Really awesome project, looks fantastic and saved a ton of money, not that's probably the point. Awesomeness! Cheers 🌱

Thank you! This made me chuckle! Glad you enjoyed it! Wasn’t what I set out to make but made the best of what I had :D I love making them but saving money definitely bolstered the passion! Lifes expensive and so are bonsai pots 🤣 my little brothers getting this pot although I may struggle to part with it 🌱

Cheers Kevin only really takes 2-3 hours but there’s a fair bit of down time. Especially with British winter temps!
Well done but what a palaver.

In short i lost patience with it (which is very rare) but also a combination of light hours and temperature and and over ambitious design! I shared the video as a lot of work went into it and thought it shows a good honest fail but making the most out of what you can! Feet will be glued on this one 😂

@@nillysbonsai9636 The pot looks fine. Fair play to you.
Why not pour it from the top

Simply technique I used on this particular pot the side walls are concave and a steep pitch. I didn’t want first layer picking up sand and rolling down the face of the side. This turned out to be quite an ambitious pot which is would amend my design slightly if making again.
That's not a big pot it a baby. I've just had to make 2 pots 800mm × 400mm to repot a couple of my bonsai.

Im not one to boast but I have cast a 2.5/ 3 tonne Bonsai style pot for ancient olive stump if that counts :D Fair play to you they can be tricky what ever the size you make.
