I am astounded. That is truly brilliant and I would happily plant one of my bonsai in that. In fact, I don't even think my trees are good enough for your pots! I realy enjoyed watching this from start to finish. Cheers, Xav

Hi that’s a nice design. I’ve watched some other tutorials where the cement is put on the round sand mould and then use the design edging to make the pot. That way the inside of the pot is smooth making it easier come repotting. I’ve also seen ones using gutter material as a design edging.

Thank you Sharon! The design was very ambitious to be fair! I would normal make the mould smooth inside this I felt needed the ribs to hold the weight of the cement as quite a tall pot! I will redesign slightly for the next one as you’ve a valid point I had noted myself. I also use old gutter, pvc pipe my latest material is old covid screens from shops! I have some lovey new designs to share soon 😊

This is such impressive work, Sam! Absolutely loved watching your process and the finished result. I'm super curious, what do you use for your little turn table?

Thank you so much! Just like the materials and tools used for making the pot, the turntable I cobbled together from junk :D I’ve used a piece of pipe knocked into the ground with a piece of stud centred thru some 2x3 timber topped with an old chopping board 😂 I can set this up anywhere I can hit the pipe in! I want to design one with my old van bearings or a motor bike wheel next just much on mine and toms job list atm!

What an amazing technique! Do you plan on painting any of them? Some good coats of primer, paint and varnish with spraycans could make them look nicely glazed!

@@nillysbonsai9636 I hadn't heard about cement dyes, but that sounds like it would simulate unglazed pots really well! Looking forward to these experiments!

Hi I have done that with some cement projects or if I did a repair of sorts. But i find the moisture in the sand and a wet cloth over the pot for a week does the job. I Havant had any crack drying out so far. Your welcome thank you 😊
