So according to the press, you need to do this for 12-16 hours a day for about 70p an hour, avoid falling 8 stories off the top of the super tankers, poisoned by chemicals, oil or asbestos, crushed, burned, electrocuted or die from heatstroke in the sun. Yes, this is exactly how ships come to Bangladesh for scrapping. This isn't an engineering simulator, it's a survival-horror story.

thats because in those places, people are cheap and disposable but machinery is expensive.

On the big ships you can rip the sides off you just need to go to where the ropes are tied off to the ground

When my ex and I lived up in the northernmost part of Norway some years ago, for several weeks there was a ship like the Venus anchored in the bay just a mile or two away from my ex's grandma's cabin. I looked it up on the Marine Traffic app. It was a gas tanker, and it was labelled "Hazard Level A". Myself, I had "Comfort Level F" knowing that.

As a marine engineer, I advise you that it can explode. Probably wasnt a good idea for him to dismantle it in the game without even checking for the gas fumes

Thanks to a prior episode I downloaded this game and have gotten past level 40 pretty quickly. Something to keep in mind that materials listed on ships are expressed in proportional amounts. A very large ship with a small proportion of titanium may have a lot of titanium compared to a smaller ship with a higher rate of titanium.

This game seems like such a grind (pun squarely intended) and I'd have little patience for it myself - but for some reason I'm perfectly content to watch Matt play it!

@@manelneedsaname1773 In all honesty, I get the allure of "meditative" games that otherwise just seem like work. I have hours and hours in Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Simulator, and Viscera Cleanup Detail. I think it's also easier to watch Matt play this specifically because he edits out a lot of the grind.

I beat game in 2 days not Grindy at all If I was you focus on upgrading your tools once you get to your three tools start saving up for 2000 if the biggest shit have to invite all the upgrades and make 10k each run after hour 16

I find it hilarious that the shack which is obviously made of wood and scrap steel requires titanium alloy for some reason

Just to say, because I don't think that creators like you are told this enough, you are one of my favourite channels on KZread and your wonderful personality and engaging videos are a great highlight to my day. 👌🔥

The Bridge is for the architects of the sea, "deck officers". Engineers prefer the ECR or engine control room 😉

i dont have much knowledge in ships but im pretty sure the first ship you took was a GAS transport ship, there was sure a lot of gas pipes and the tanks are shaped as a ball beacause the gas inside has high pressure

The bridge is an engineer's favorite parts of the ship? That place is for the coffee drinking window watchers!

The ending with the shopkeeper buried in materials was hilarious! The episodes keep getting better. Also: Paddy again. Every video is better with a little Paddy!

Game tells him explicitly "Only stuff in the inventory is saved!" a couple of episodes back. Lets a s-ton of stuff go to waste.

And if they don't like what they see, they make sure that the visibility sinks to near zero. They don't delete it, and some comments do make a comeback but it is very unlikely. Also, it is a matter of choice and style so don't you dare to call me f-ing "Timmyboy" again 😉

instead of your workers coming up with random stuff they should make it so that anything you don't pick up from a ship is harvested by your workers so in the morning you'll find a %amount of the items you left on the ship which can be upgraded later on to the bunkhouses.

the ship with the "balloons" is a gas tanker. It keeps the correct pressure for the gas. :)

I made the same comment on Drea's channel. The first ship is an LNG or Low-pressure Natural Gas tanker. You wouldn't actually see it being decommissioned in a boat yard like the one in the game. It's an extreme explosion hazard. The tanks (the domes) have to be evacuated and vented until all traces of gas have been removed - not only from the tanks but from all the plumbing as well. That can take several weeks with filling the tanks with salt water several times. On older ships the tanks are insulated with an asbestoses mat which is a regulated nightmare to get rid of. An LNG ship is one of the most regulated commercial ships both in the U.S. and most of the rest of the world. That includes the procedures for breaking it apart.
