Probably could. This was my first prototype, I plan to add ground hatchery pellets to the mixture for scent and taste, but you could really add anything to this base and tailor it to many different species. I tried to model it after powerbait, which is great for stocked trout

Start with just flour and then add honey until you get the consistency you want. Then you can mix in food coloring and then add whatever scent you want after that

I mean brim eat bread so do bluegill but trout (unless it's a stocked river or lake ) are pretty picky

Forgot to clarify this was for stocked trout, bread is great for them. This is kinda similar to that and I plan on adding ground up hatchery pellets to this mixture. A wild trout would never eat this unless it was yellow colored to imitate sucker spawn, or if it was one of those really agressive native brook trout. But I wouldn’t use it for wild trout anyway since I imagine it would be all gut hooks

and also how many cups and stuff should I put garlic powder instead of honey?

Just start with a bunch of flour, maybe like half a cup you can always make more if it’s not enough. Then just keep mixing in honey until you get the right consistency. You should always use the honey, that’s what makes it stick together and gives it the right consistency. And then yes, adding garlic powder or other scents would work great

Honey, flour, and food coloring is the base. Then you can add whatever scent you want in the form of other liquid ingredients

@@Johnrb7 I caught a couple, but powerbait and other dough baits outfish it by a good margin. If you want to try and make this, if recommended adding some scent to it and then it would work better.

Yes but not that well since I didn’t add any scent. Caught a couple of stocked trout but other baits like bread and even powerbait caught more

This is just a base to get the right consistency and stickiness, you can add other ingredients for scent. Also this was my first time trying to make bait and I didn’t do any research so I’m decently happy with how it turned out. I’ll check out that video though
