Casting your big base rocks and rolling them down a hill is a waste of material. Pack them in to your edges. If you don't. You will do this again and again. Build a base with with the big rocks. Take it from an old timer

I was thinking the same thing. Like, all those big, beautiful rocks could be used for so many thing's! But, they are just being thrown over the edge, to plummet/shatter below... onto.... more roads? House's? Unsuspecting people? They could be used to create barriers to alert people unfamiliar with the road, that there are steep, sudden turns or to line the road and make it safer. Or, the rocks and dirt could be collected and used for other projects, like road building, landscaping etc... not landing in heaps below, destroying nature's beauty with piles of dirt and big rocks. I know landslides already do just that, but... why add more debris to all of it? Otherwise, I love watching the video's, just get irritated at the material waste, and unnecessary destroying of trees, bushes, grasses etc.

Hmm? Wouldn’t the boulders provide an anchor system if compacted into the base? This is a good clean up effort for sure, but probably not a permanent fix. Thanks for sharing!

If I was the builder, First you need to control the flow of water. Then use the large builders to hold back any of the sludge that keeps washing away the hillside. if you don't try and control the water flow this will happen every year.

Pin on buckets, no quick attach? It just amazes me that you never see quick attach or hydraulic thumbs on excavators anywhere except in western Canada and the US. See these guys doing earthquake cleanup and rescues without the most useful thing you can have on an excavator, a thumb. Its like trying to tie your shoes without a thumb. The other thing you never see is single tooth rippers as quick attachments.
