Making Health Fun: Lessons Learned from Video Games | Anna Sort | TEDxBarcelona
After years of gathering information and learning how to create video games, Anna recapitulated in 5 points how to generate commitment in the user in any digital system that is being generated for learning and creating habits.
Anna Sort is an entrepreneurial nurse specializing in Digital Health and Gamification. After specialising in Cognitive Systems/interfaces in order to specialise in technology and health, she created the company PlayBenefit, where she leads the ideation, creation and execution of digital products. Sometimes people tell me to get a life.... I’m a GAMER, I HAVE INFINITE LIVES!!
Wow! I totally dig this. I am an occupational therapist by trade. I am also a 2 timer on the TEDx stage. I am so amazed by your work! I have shared it with some of my colleagues who also like gaming. I get this idea- because I see it in healthcare from various settings. I see Minecraft for autistic children. I also see World of Warcraft for nursing home residents. So, anything is possible. Also, I see clinically that sometimes these patients' eyes lighted up whenever I talk to them about video games instead of what should they usually do in form of therapy. Very nice job.
How do you manage Nursing, entrepreneurship and gaming together?

She was one of my teachers in university, so from the Nursery part I think she only teaches right now, but yeah so much energy!
This is so great! I majored in media arts and science. Gaming. I also have medical issues and know health insurance. Health Informatics is a growing field. I am glad that someone else sees this. Thirty minutes of candy crush etc can help fight depression and un stress. If we can come together! There was also an article I read about gamers solving DNA or some type of code. Don't knock gamers. They hold part of the key. Keep it up!
Really good. Thanks for sharing and your work.
Enjoy most of these programs

This might make some sense but you have to start with the correct medical information. Today Type 2 Diabetes is reversible for most people with diet alone so whatever medium you use to tell someone it is a life-long disease would be unfortunate.

It's not necessarily reversible but can be managed without drugs (insulin being produced by the body or not).

This chick trying to say we should create a school as like internet video games. As like everyone want do homework "do game missions" to get good grades " to get level up" i would say it . School is not a fun place. School was more like a nightmare for me. And I'm sure. it was also for some people to.
